I deny ever useing subliminal messages!!

Philip is listening to: The low humming of his laptops fan...

Well, we're starting to get people asking about the Yuk-Box.  It's green for a reason, y'know.  Anyway, it got me thinking that the pinnacle of gaming evolution has to be the handhelds.  They can't be as flashy or as pretty or nice-sounding as the home consoles, so they have to have REALLY good gameplay or else the titles tank.  That's why GB lived so long and why GBA will live so much longer-- the gameplay is too good to ignore. Oh yeah, Weak Link rulz.  Snowflake Studios have the best comics.  ('cept maybe Penny Arcade, Megatokyo, CRFH, Mac Hall...)  Have I made my
fanboy quotient for the month? - CX (Goku and Freeza keep fighting, in...  Dragonandonandonandonball Z!)
Philip: Quotient fulfilled! You get a cookie! No Aipoms were killed in the making of that cookie.
This is just a shameless plug for a treasure trove of Pokémon comic strips.

I can advertise with the worst of them! - NeoVid

Philip: Of course....
I noticed in some screens shots recently that they changed Domino's name to Sami for the American release.

Why, Nintendo?  I thought you loved me. - Jethro McB

Philip: Well, I'll still call her Domino; but if it bugs you too much.. just think of her as "Pretty Sami: Solider of LOVE and HAPPY DESTRUCTION!"
I'm tired. Someone shoot me. - The Heptagon
Philip calls over Domino AKA Pretty Sami Solider of LOVE and HAPPY DESTRUCTION!
There has been one thing that has really been bugging me lately, and that is, the lack of good ports. Belive me I'm all for original games for my GBA, and I can't wait to play Sonic Advance and Metroid 4, but why can't sega port over all the other sonic games like maybe Knuckles Choatix?(Knux: Choatix was a very good game for the 32X that starred knuckles and a few other lesser known characters of the Sonic universe)The GBC was more than powerful enough to have Super Mario 2, Super Mario 3, and, well, just about every other game for the NES ported to it...so why didn't it? with the GBA the possibilities are expanded to a much borader range, it is capable of having, SNES, Genesis, 32x and even some playstation games such as Rayman and Mega Man games (sans the anime clips of course) ported to it so we can only hope Nintendo and the other publishers take note of this. TO NINTENDO, SEGA, CAPCOM AND EVERYONE ELSE... BRING ON THE PORTS! - CraigD
Philip: They could do Mega Man WITH the Anime Clips.. however.. considering the quality of those in 8... maybe it would be better to leave them out. I think the reason that they don't is because people who buy video games, in general, are such bastards. Especially in the US market. We sit back and say: "Why should I buy a port of a game I own?" "Isn't that an old game? The graphics aren't as good..." People did that with Super Mario Bros. 2 on GBA, and they are doing the same thing with Sonic Adventure 2 for Game Cube. Sad, really. If we DIDN'T DO THAT. We would get more ports.
Hello everyone! Glad to see me? No, well, tough. I have gotten very little feedback on my DMG chapter (http://www.newjourney.cjb.net). U.U I thought this would actually elict people to (gasp!) E-MAIL ME!
O.O

Anyway, I was wondering, how are the Pallet fanfics coming along? - Duke

Philip: They're coming along. O_O
The Forest Service has issued a BEAR WARNING in the national forests for this summer.  They're urging everyone to protect themselves by wearing bells and carrying pepper spray.
Campers should be alert for signs of fresh bear activity, and they should be able to tell the difference between Black Bear dung and Grizzly Bear dung.
Black Bear dung is rather small and round.  Sometimes you can see fruitseeds and/or squirrel fur in it.
Grizzly Bear dung has bells in it, and smells like pepper. - Lady Rend
Philip: He he he. I'll keep that in mind.
Question: "Who would win in a fight? Unit 00 or Devestator?"

Answer: Me - PoBob the Happy Monkey
Philip: ALL HAIL POBOB THE HAPPY MONKEY! (Or not..)
...Philip... you scare me sometimes... well actually most of the time... - me
Philip: Mwa ha ha! My EVIL plan is working! FOY IS FLIGHT!
The sadness of no more Dreamcast finnaly hit me yesterday. I beat Jet Grind Radio, and realized what an awsome game it was. I really want another one, but I would have to buy an XBOX, and really, why would anyone do that? Dreamcast, such a short life...sigh... - Admiral Tailz
Philip: Well, JGRF may end up on other systems too. Just like Crazy Taxi.
I'm confused. When is the official U.S. dat for Sonic Advance? ONe says in November, one says in January. Can you help me out? - Kenshin
Philip: I heard December.
Although this isn't GB related did u hear Raven Software is doing Quake 4?  Death to yet another great series, most likely!  And hey! I liked Bubsy 2!  although I admit I never played Bubsy 1.  I know DMGIce was the prototype release name of the GB, but does DMG stand for nething?  And you kno what we really need! Warcraft for the GBA *I don't own a GBA but if they made it I would* and it wouldn't be too hard to convert, not to mention the multiplayer possibilities...  That's all for now. *Goes back to cleaning his crowbar collection* - Darkdream
Philip: Dot Matrix Game. That is what it stands for.
Heh, teaching parents to play PSO? I gave up on getting my parents to play games a long time ago.  It was quite hopeless... I did get my dad to play the original Star Fox a bit when it was new, but the most my mom would ever play was Tetris. XP Are all parents like that? Or should I be glad that they aren't taking all my time that I could be playing? :D

-BakaDragon~ Somehow... I doubt the latter.

Philip: They'll never learn.. will they? For SHAME!
Very much digging the cute NES graphics around here - 'specially the Dr. mario viruses.  I want to pinch their cheeks!

So, when are we playing PSO again, hmm?  Or we're you playing me like the stud I've heard you are!

*wink wink*nudge nudge* - Mia aka Echidna

Philip: Ummm.. *grins* Sure!
HEY PHIL! Just a little report from Camp Hyrule here! Between all the ghosts, Pikmin Predators, POing/scaring campers/NOA, and my cabin being in the lead by more than 15 points at any given time (OH YEAH!) I haven't gotten around to posting what I've been doing on the General Board like I planned. But I'm going to do that now. I figured I'd give a little preview of what will be in the post here. Well, I've been thrown into other chat rooms by NOA 5 times so far. 4 of those times were out of my own cabin during my own cabin chat by my own Cabin Counselor, NOAMac (AKA NOASoap =) ) Several campers have unsucessfully tried to tranquilize me, and one NOA said I needed to be tranquilized. I've discovered a dandy way to scare people out of the chat I'm in, which involves acting so happy it's scary. I've made quite a few new friends. Several people have called me a moron, those people I just ignored or used my "Super Happy" tactic against. MWA HAHAHA! I've rounded up ghosts, Pikmin Predators, and on today's list NOA's pokémon that are on the lose. And I even came up with my Cabin's (un)Official song! (It's quite popular amonst the people in my cabin) We call the song "The Duck Song" and it is actually from Reader Rabbit: Toddler. I feel I stand a pretty good chance of winning the "Most Likely To Be Tranquilized Award" and as long as they don't hold the closing ceremonies TOO early, I won't miss them this year. (Last year I missed them for reasons I don't recall, and this year I have a dentist appointment) I'll go into more detail in my General Board post. See ya around! - Blinky
Philip: That's cool! Pikmin Predators.. hehehehe
Hey Phil, been awhile since I was here. What's new? Got a girl? I've been writing my book, and my computer got a virus. That was a computer learning experience. I had to go into the bowels of my computer and disable the safety features so I could delete it...SirCam! I wondered if your site had a virus or something, the other day I stopped in to see what was going on and the PC-cillin shield I got for a 30 day trial popped up, so I got out of here as fast as I could. I heard that besides getting a virus through e-mail you can get it just by logging onto a hacked site! WEll, I hope no one here got it from me, it kept mailing itself to everyone in my address book. Ok, I guess that's it. - pikamom
Philip: Weird. O_O Well.. no one new yet... but I'm in college now.. so who... knows?
Hey!  Thanks to the master of Pokemon:A New Journey.  I probably never would have known your excellent site existed if you hadn't posted it on viral speak.  That's Viral Speak - bringing people together - or all freaks meeting in one huge spot ^-^ - clarynet
Philip: Yes! For the feast! Umm.. I mean.. yeah.. for all good things not involving eating people.
Oh yeah... Tenchi Movie #2 is WAY not nice.  The whole inter-family thing is just way to weird for me...  Your right though, all theid have to do with 1 is take out the bit of blood. And I guess Ryoko saying "Bastard" all the time would ahve to go too :(  I havn't seen three, so I can't comment...

But hey.  If I get  Char's Counter Attack, I'll be happy.  I guess that would mean they would have to show Z and ZZ Gundam to have it make sence...  And that's not bad!!  In CCA, Amuro gets killed off!  Yay! - WDIIA

Philip: The third one would NEVER end up on Toonami.. I mean.. let's see.. nudity, adult language, no violence; but it's VERY heavily thematic. Some sexual content; but that's important to the plot. Hmm.. well.. anyhow.. nope.... I don't see it on Cartoon Network anytime this year.
Sonic for GBA looks pretty good, but there's one thing I would change:

Take out Amy, replace her with Eggman.  Maybe either an alternate quest where you have to beat Sonic (I mean, Eggman has a 300 IQ and his plans are always foiled by a blue hedgehog) or a bonus game or a "final battle" type setting where something comes along that neither Sonic nor Eggman can stop--maybe a Chaos-powered Metal Sonic (Sonic CD?) or Mecha Sonic (Sonic 2?).  Eggman could probably do some damage by rolling into foes ;) and he could always use his hovercraft in certain levels (like how each character has a different style of play, more ala SA1, where the chars all have unique play styles)

Plus, Amy is annoying as all get out.  Her voice is irritating, and she's too whiny.

Anyway, it's either that or give Eggman his own game in which he's the lead--preferably a puzzle-shooter hybrid instead of something like Mean Bean Machine again (not that this game was bad, but it was just Puyo^2 repackaged with Robotnik and co.)  Or do a GBA Sonic the Fighters with Eggman as a playable character.

Eggman 2004--he has an IQ of 300! ;) - John

Philip: Personally.. if I had my way.. the game would take place on a mostly robotic, and laid to waste, Planet Mobious. Anyhow, you would play as Sonic, and then later on as others you run into them. Tails would do only ONE THING. Follow you around. If you played two player GBA co-op, the other person could control him. The plot would unfold in anime style cutscenes. The main game would be broken into "missions"; mostly. Sonic has to destroy certain base computers around Mobious to infiltrate an area in Robotnik City. Umm.. other characters in the game you could play as would be.. like.. Knuckles, BUNNY (She NEEDS to be in a game.. come on.. a rabbit.. she could run fairly fast, and have like a grappling arm. That would be cool. They could also bring back that Armadillo... and Shadow has to be a boss in it somewhere.. and.. I'll be quiet now.
Hey, Speaking of Sonic on handhelds, did anyone ever play Sonic 6? It was a hack of Speedy Gonzales for GB, and they did one for the SNES too... I played the SNES one and it was funny. I mean so bad it was funny funny. If anyone has played the GB one, how was it? I would download it off of the SSRG (ssrg.emulationzone.org... good Sonic site!) but I hate GB Emulation...

Sonic! Yay! Hey, if you're a comic collector, pick up Sonic #100. In stores now. Bad plot (caught in the middle of a storyline, not as eventful as ish 50), but commemorative. I like seeing which issues in the background I have... - Super SaiyaMew

Philip: You know what would be funny? If Archie Comics lost the rights to Sonic and Top Cow, or Dark Horse got the rights.. hehehe. A Witchblade, Fathom, Sonic the Hedgehog cross-over... oh.. my God.. forget I said that.
I suppose Klonoa could be considered hard. It follows the standard platformer formula (which I think is still good despite being used a lot): make the game easy to win, but hard to aquire everything.

You could blow through the game and get the ending (Huepow!) in one sitting if you really wanted to. - The Boinker

Philip: I like to get EVERYTHING.
Here ... dont ask why, where or how ...

*hands Blinky´s Bra to Philip* - Imakuni? Neo

Philip: Hehehe. Oh, it's eatable?
How's it feel to be 147 in dog years? (Yeah, I said the exact same thing with a different number last year, but my job has sucked all creativity from my soul).

Mario, Link, and Fox McCloud in the ad above Plymouth, next to this form...they...well...look like they want to kill me. - The Heptagon

Philip: Well, I don't feel a day over 145.
FF10 ownz me. It's a revamped Final Fantasy with the graphics to back it up. It's for the $#!77y cup holder of a system, but I'm still hoping for a Gamecube port, which Square may need to get their credibility back with Nintendo. Globe Flower out. - Globe Flower
Philip: The team from FF7 wrote FFX's plot.. yeah.
