08.25.2008 - "Let the rain fall and wash away the stupid" - Yeah, that has nothing to do with the pipe-lickers convention this weekend at all. So, anyhow, the most important event this week has totally happened! Hbomb has reached 20 articles in ummm.. five years! Well, click it here and read! Here is some more video of Hbomb as well. 08.21.2008 - "Counting down the August" - A few interesting pieces of news have arrived on the stage of history! The biggest being the announcement of the PSP 3000. Unlike Andre 3000, which comes with phat beats, the PSP 3000 hosts a few less obvious extras to it. Here is the quick list of the "new" items.
  • Much brighter, faster, sharper screen with higher contrast and an anti-reflective nature to it.
  • A built-in Microphone for use with Skype and voice chat in some games.
  • The ability to interlace game graphics on SD televisions, so that you may finally play games on your non-HD compliant sets.
  • The Menu Button has been replaced by a PlayStation Button that looks like the one on the PS3 controllers.
  • The edges of the system have been slimmed down drastically to make the system more aerodynamic. (No, really.)
  • The ring in the back is smaller now.
Those seem neat! The other big news is that if you do not buy Kirby's Super Star Ultra: DREAMS WILL DIE. If you fail to buy Rhapsody: LOVE WITH DIE. And if you fail to buy Chrono Trigger: ALL TIME WILL CEASE TO BE. Do not let that happen. You have been warmed. Oh, the PSP 3000? It will be snuck into bundles later this year for the same price as the PSP 2000. Yup. Stealthy. To top off this burst of fresh new hype and news; here are some interesting things in the next few sentences! How many? One. Two. Hbomb. Oh, for those wondering? I heard a rumor that the PSP 4000 will include the ability to access the PS Store ON THE SYSTEM, the brightest setting will be accessible at all times, the ability to read adobe PDF files, and there will be a hat included that does nothing. 08.01 - 03.2008 - "Pretty Spoony really." - The distraction that is Final Fantasy IV for the DS has descended unto the site, spin-offs of Parasite Eve and Final Fantasy XIII were announced for the PSP, and Squishy attended a midnight release for book: "Breaking Dawn." 07.01.2008 - "It is all MU." - I was going to send up a few more picture collection updates and announce a few new videos. Because I will be in Florida for a few days soon. But then.. the internet was destroyed. Seriously. There's Diablo III for the PC people, Star Ocean and Phantasy Star Portable for the PSP crowd, and for the DS crowd this Winter? Apparently..... HOLY CRAP! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! YES! YES YES YES YES! For the three people who do not know.... CHRONO TRIGGER on the Nintendo DS. It may just be an enhanced SNES port for the DS.. but.. it's CHRONO TRIGGER. Only a graphics upgraded DS release of Link's Awakening on the DS, or a USA-bound Earthbound collection on DS could top this for me. Oh yeah. I was bored earlier in the day and this happened. 06.18.2008 - "Obsolete Banter And Minimal Activity." - Long-time readers of this site will know that I (Philip) have a tendency to push some political themes into my coverage. Why not? Do not worry, there is news and legitimate update going on here, just not in this update. If you are here for A-Kon stuff, it is below this entry. Tonight, there is a large political rant on the front page and you may click HERE to skip it entirely. A wise person would read it and talk about it with their friends. Please consider being that person.

This is going to be a good year for video games in that we may see new hardware at E3 this year for the Nintendo camp and some brand new features on the Sony camp. Portables will continue to pull up favorites from the past and provide shining stars of brilliance for the future. While E3 has been torn asunder and diluted, the announcements will still make those tattered remains seem as the finest of silk. Yes, it will be a good year for gamers.

But it will not be a good year for the United States of America. It will not be a good year because the public, and media appear to be gearing towards electing the political equivalent of a bad video game based on a good movie. The special effects of Shock and Awe, of Hope and Change, ring loud to hide a morally weak, and shallow jester that has shown a tattered party that charm and money are all you really need. That those trifles are all you really need to make history by destroying the lessons learned by history. This is a year where we are rapidly becoming an emotional people who are blinded by the same lies we were told in 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004. The self-same lies that prey on the instinctive fear of hopelessness that we sheepishly run from. The truth is that there are some huge problems with our Congress, our Courts, our Carelessness, and our reactionary Choices. I believe that the strongest, and most damning evidences are piled up to the Left and to the Right of us. We, the unfortunate souls in the middle, have allowed those evidences to tower over us so high that they will collapse upon our heads and crush us beneath the haunches of their crumbling bulwarks! However, we can only be crushed if we allow ourselves to be..

We have let the smallest issues blind and nullify the effectiveness of our votes. Abortion and Gay Marriage are very dividing; but ultimately not as important as preservation of all Life, all Liberty and our continued ability to pursue Happiness. I would suggest that people take a few hours to better themselves before they step into the voting booth this November. Better yourself through education, debate, and healthy skepticism. I believe that we are here now because we failed to strike a balance between Idealism and Realism. We failed to acknowledge the mistakes of pretty ideals in favor of the safe and familiar comfort that blind hatred of a single person, group, or past action assures. The harsh glare of hyperbole and buzzwords is felt every time we buy food, shelter, fuel, and other basic needs. Running away from a battle in a foreign land will not make your car get better gas mileage. Abstaining from the civic duty to vote because you feel there is no "real conservative" will not help your children get a better education. Bumper stickers, and sign waving has no ability to feed the hungry, or repair a community after the worst of disasters. The mad truth is that we will have drastic changes no matter what happens in 2008. The insane consequences of our actions in November will mean we either swing madly to the left, or veer toward the middle. Yes, I did use that paragraphs to recommend that you pop in some movies on your Netflix cue. Here, I will do it again, again, and again! But interesting documents aside, it is my belief that I should place a slight duty for my readers. I expect you to spend 15 minutes of your time to hear a quick speech and to ponder why it is still effective today. I also would like to state that I believe there is a time and purpose for every one and every event that happens. I believe that, for the sake of a greater good, a geater direction, we need to take sword and ballot pen in hand this year. If you truly want this nation to regain her footing and luster, and if you truly believe that we need positive changes, then you must do the right thing. We must all do the right thing. Yes, we can do the right thing! And that right thing is to send Obama back to Illinois to do his job there properly first! Please stop rewarding failure.Philip Andrew Wesley
06.15.2008 - "My beautiful red hue!" - Okay! News? Naw. An apology for the lack of updates and an additional bit of stuff up from Squishy! These are on Flickr, which apparently requires you to have a Yahoo account to view. I apologize for any problems people may have had with the Flickr site. Personally, I likes Flickr. Especially since it is pretty easy to use and I can put a lot of stuff on it. o_O So, here is what I uploadedified for you!

06.06.2008 - "Okay! We are about PORTABLES, Right?" - Yes. The new front page picture will be up soon, but here is a little bit of a distraction to tide you over! The A-Kon stuff will continue and be awesome. But for now, look at Squishy trying out the WiiFit! I understand that some people have trouble with Flickr and we will have some awesome stuff up eventually so Flickr allergic people may see the Squishy pictures. For now, a quick run down of the news in the portable arena. There is a new PSP firmware that is shipping with the release of Hot Shot Golf: Open Tee 2. Also, the game Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure will be localized in the United States, for the Nintendo DS. Rhapsody is a great little game, albeit short, and a little easy. 05.29.2008 to 06.03.2008 - "In which there is a plot twist!" - In a surprise move, we updated the (over 10 years old!) site and in a big way. We will be covering A-Kon 19 this year and I am using it as a bit of an experiment. After laptop battery trouble, and camera trouble in the past. I have decided to put a large majority of the coverage in video format. On Youtube. Yes. Actual use of technology! As before, there will be Squishy photos and such. Those, and the previous years worth of them, will be made available as a Bit Torrent file after the convention, and I will slowly up them onto one of those neat (free) photo places. Yes! Finally updating technology, finally getting a better job, finally starting everything up correctly! So, here is the beef. The video content is listed below with a short description of the footage.
