Viral Speak 08-14-2001
My firstest virual speekaash ooppdated aaaz ann aduolt... 21 ish fhun!.

Philip is listening to: "Be like that" by Three Doors Down. I love the song.. but.. umm.. for all the wrong reasons. I mean.. I sometimes feel like that.. you know? Oh, they are singing "If I can" or "If I could." For the longest time I thought it was something else. OH! Special props to Nitro! He called my house today.. O_o I was like.. half asleep.. so I hope I wasn't rude. Hmm.. Hey.. Akemi, Charizard 2000, Bridget, Booty, Techni.. why don't you girls ever call me! Huh? Well?

HAPPY BDAY PHILIP!!!! - Imakuni? Neo
Philip: Thank you.
Violent game are bad because of their violence... nonviolent games are bad because of their... music? if you try hard enough, you can make anything look evil. i mean all these people saying harry potter is evil and etc... have you ever read lord of the rings? oh but you could never disrespect those books! same with constantly bashing drugs but you could never disrespect the Beatles even though they were all about drugs... (not to say that drugs are good, cause theyre not) its just all so confusing.. elvis was called the devil too, you know(not to say that elvis is good.. i think he should be banned in all public places, but...) thanks for listening to my rant! im all ranted out for now... can go back to happy thoughts - me
Philip: Let me tell it to you straight and proper. When someone tells you that a game, movie, song, or a book is "of the Devil" or "Evil". The reason is that they usually don't understand it. OR they are essentially -pardon the PSO language- fokked in the head. My favorite example is the Founder of B.A.D.D. (Bothered About Dungeons and Dragons) Her son committed suicide and she ignored the numerous amounts of drugs he was doing. (LSD, Heroin, and another "downer") However, I don't think the drugs did it either. Her SON did it. No one MADE him choose to do drugs, or take his life.
Nnrgh.  Vash figurine.  Imported.  Gun.  Kuronekosama.  One of the perks of working at a major game store.  ^_^  By the by, I did get a chance to play a bunch of GB RPGs.  Warlocked is next on my list, but I kinda miss the old command sounds from stuff like Starcraft.  When I played it in the store I added my own sounds-- I shouted "What is your major malfunction!" when my co-worker was coming in the door.  They don't let me play the games in the store anymore. - CX (Love and peace!  Love and peace!)
Philip: Ready and awaiting launch orders!
yeah, i like ducks. lol didnt know you put that up. wouldnt have, but i clicked the link by accident. lol

and titan had to ask if i was smoking weed when i made that site. lol - booty

Philip laughs.
Silly People!!! just went to Gamespot forum. People are like "Wow! Tekken looks better than the PS version!"  but.. Apparantly they can't see that the characters are all pre-rendered, and unless they render every frame of every animation at every angle, some things are gonna look pretty weird with that rotating camera thingie. Just so all u people know... because there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about this game - Anomynous
Philip: Hmm.. also.. it appears that some of the blood in Doom for GBA is GREEN...
Yes, it has finally been realized! Pokémon and DMG Ice finally meet! My latest chapter to my fanfic (http://www.newjourney.cjb.net) has the whole DMG Ice crew as the Gym Leaders of Pummelo Island! Even though this chapter does no justice whatsoever to everyone cameoed in the chapter, I thought about doing a tribute anyway. Guess who's the actual Leader? Hint: He's been hanging out at a certain icey square. Of course, if you have visited the forums, you probably already know who he is.
-.-'

Philip: Hey! Cool. CLICK THE LINK PEOPLE! SUPPORT HIM!
GAH! Ekos sucks!
While on Vacation, i had my computer in for 2 mother- lovin weeks to fix it (kept getting blue screens and crashing), and when i get back, they tell me the computer's all set right? Well, i take it home, plug it in, and find out that they didnt do a thing to it.  So, i had it brought it back for them to take an entire week to delete everything on my hard drive and then tell me it was a loose cord on the CD burner they put in.  And to top it all off, my GBA's LCD screen cracked in my pocket!!!! wheres the frickin quality in these things?  Oh well, at least i got my computer back...  B&W awaits! - Jumbo
Philip: Hmm.. make sure to eat some villagers for me.
How do you feel about websites featured in Wired Magazine? - Beefy_B
Philip: I guess that's cool for those websites feature in Wired Magazine.
Wired is doing an article on GB stuff- DMGICE will be in a future wired ;) - Infinity Yak
Philip: Hey, that's kinda cool!
Hey Phil, was I hallucinating, or am I right in remembering hearing awhile back about a GBA Resident Evil game starring Barry Burton and taking place on a Cruise Ship?  Please lemme know, cuz its really bugging me now. - Tick
Philip: That's true.. it was announced.. then.. it vanished.
First, why should anyone buy SSF2T when Alpha 3 is coming out 2 months later? Is there something about SSF2T that I'm missing that makes it a better game???? I mean, as far as I can tell, Alpha 3 has 38 characters, as opposed to like 16, bette graphics, sound, and all those -ism things and game modes. Secondly, I feel it is quite evil of Nintendo to releas all of their old Mario games separately, when the GBA could probably hold them all on one cart(at least all of the games that were in "Mario All-Stars") - FighterGuy
Philip: Because they play differently. Alpha & 3 are very technical. SSF2TR is a different "style" then the Alpha games. As for the Mario thing? I want them all on one cartridge; but I'm willing to wait for them... if I must.
Hmmm...quote of the update, "if you're bored then you're boring" sounds a bit familiar...

Bahhh  I'm not sick but I'm not well...  lalalala....  ;)

Got a little carried away there...  I was one of the few who actually liked Harvey Danger before they got a record deal...  when I first heard that song, it sounded much different.  :) - Aaron Jennings

Philip: I still like them though. I guess that does that to you. I mean, you get a record deal, and usually.. you get screwed over.
I just realized something....

I DON'T HAVE A CATCH PHRASE!

Any FOOL knows that you must have a catch phrase to fit in! *panics* I MUST FIND ONE!

Here is a list of catch phrases I have been thinking of.

1. "I'll kick your arse so hard you'll kiss the moons!"
(He he...not mine. I just felt like putting it in here)
2. FOOLS!
(My favorite)
3. Indeed!
(Blast it...already taken. I probably thought of it before Hbomb, though...)
4. Whuzza?
(A favorite of mine...)
5. Whuzzis?
(An older variation of #4)
6. Um...yeah.
(Not suitable for a catch phrase)
7. Blast it!
(Yet another personal favorite)

SO! Tell me which one it should be! - Phantom

Philip: As you wish.
I've been in Bangkok for about a week now. no access to a computer aside from my mom's one at school, which i'm using now. my computer, accordion, and other stuff will be shipped over in september, so i'll just have to wait. Oh, man! We went to a department store yesterday and i went to look at the video games. I didn't think it was possible for a place to have more bootlegged stuff than Taiwan! They had 2, yes 2 PSO clones that had a badly drawn, mutated pikachu as their mascot, PikaGame and PocketGame, there were the usual 200 in one GB games, which i bought in Taiwan. they had all these pokemon games not liscenced by nintendo, like Pokemon the  First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back, the box looked convincing enough, but still, you could tell it was a fake. I think this is the one place i've been in asia where they aren't selling GBAs yet. (probably because they use PAL here and not NTSC, and that's why i had to sell all my video games and stuff before i moved. Got a nice indigo GBA for 'em, though!)I'll try and get pictures of those hilarious bootlegged goods, though. dem's funny. one of the non bootlegged games i was here made me start to drool... Pokemon Crystal.... ahhh, yeah.Well, i better shut up now. - Matt Stefaniuk, Sadistic Monkey Extraordinaire!
Philip: So the weeks are interesting? How are the NIGHTS?
Hey, Philip, do you like Klonoa? What an underappreciated series of games. I bet, like 3 people have played the PSX one, and I'm assuming you're one of them. That GBA version coming out looks pretty sweet, don't you think? - Admiral Tailz
Philip: Klonoa = HARD. However.. the GBA one is a little easy. You know what we need? We need a GOOD Bubsy sequel, the return of Rocket Night, Plok, and Aero the Acrobat.
Huh, what? I'm lost!!  JOE!!! Get back from band camp you lazy ass you!!!  *SuperSaiyaMew for those of you who don't live a mile from him*  But uhhhh I had something to say!!! And it was, oh yeah, don't play CastleVania games in 3D they the devil that'll ruin the series, so Circle of the Moon ROX!  And socks are the devil and don't you forget it! - Darkdream
Philip: This one time. At Band Camp.. I never went to Band Camp.
I snagged copies of the Galactus and Beyonder Legion Promos. Yay! - The Heptagon
Philip: j0000000000000000000000000000000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey there all my fans! (Wait a minute, my fans can't move plus they're not living....crap. All they do is keep me cooler...) *Looks at new issue of ToyFare* YES!!! Bandai is releasing special edition statue type sets for Outlaw Star AND Big O!!! YAY!!!(And Escaflonae or however you spell it too...) CRYSTAL IS COMING AUG. 1ST WHERE I AM, well, at TRU particulairly!(But by the time (if) this is posted most ppl will have it, maybe...) Not that this is related to anthing but how the hell is PSO about $55 yet the standard was $40!? WHY!? *sob* Well, soon I shall retire my Red version and free half the PKMN on it. I've transfered all my good PKMN to Gold and then eventually I will transfer my good Gold and Red PKMN to Crystal... *Must have Bionicle! Must have...* Teeheehee... I must say: THANK GOD FOR SWITCHHOUSE! I just found Tony Hawk P.S. 2 for DC for just 10 bucks and S&H! It was like 30/40 bucks at TRU! MWAHAHHAHAHHAAHAHA!

Important! I am making a fan fic and manga comic type book about a new PKMN world/new pokemon thing hard to explain...

G'Bye!
-The PKMN Master: Official Crazy Funny Man!

Philip: I need an Dorothy for my Console TV Top. Escaflowne... ESCAFLOWNE SUCKS. Oh, well. Outlaw Star is nice. But.. ESCAFLOWNE SUCKS!
My one comment about Final Fantasy.... Watching computer-generated characters get romantic is about as enthralling as mannequins getting romantic.

But that's just me. - CodeBlue

Philip: Watching REAL people get romantic can sometimes be less then enthralling.. and rather nauseating.
First of all, I think its silly to ignore global warming and then spend billions on a missile defense system that makes everybody mad at you, breaks treaties, and doesn't even work half of the time, even on the most simple tests possible. Secondly, Square, come home!!! Ask any respectable gamer and theyll tell ya Square made their best games when they were developing for Nintendo. Anyway once GameCube and XBox get out, PS2 will be the least powerful system out. - StrangeGuy535
Philip: Missile Defense is important.. but we really do need to get money into fixing up our enviroment. Maybe we can cut some money off of the education budget. God only knows that more then half the kids in our schools aren't useing the faculities for anything EDUCATIONAL.
After threatening legal action, agreements with my credit card company, and filing with the Better Business Bureau, Upstate games have FINALLY gotten my order to my doorstep...  Lets count the days... 22 + 31 +30 + 31 +30 +27 =  181 days- just shy of half a year! - Infinity_Yak
Philip: At least you will get free stuff. BUT that will take at least 190 days to get to you.. give or take a year.
Has anyone thought about doing Command & Conquer or Red Alert on GBA? Red Alert was done on Playstation, and they could fit it on a cartridge if they cut the videos. They also could scale things down cause the ps version had a very small viewing area.  Of coures, everybody loves remakes... or maybe even a totally original C&C game... or Dune related... as long as it includes some version of that fun Westwood engine.  - M
Philip: I kinda want to see that while I still have human eyes.
do you love me? - Shigeru Miyamoto
Philip: Yes. You are an inspiration to us all.
Okay, my lazy cable company just got around to putting Sci-Fi Channel on the lineup (I love "Crossing Over with John Edwards"...it's so cool), so finally I'll be able to watch (and tape) MST3K on a regular basis.  So in commemeration of that, I present my own MST moment of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within:

[Title appears on screen]

Jeth: "The Spirits Within"...does that mean this is going to be a religious experience?

Tom Servo: Nah, I think that refers to the gallon of Jack Daniels that was in the writer's gut when he started working on this. - Jethro McB

Philip: I would sell someone else's child to see them riff that movie.
One of the funniest spells that I've seen in a game: Summon Cow

What it does is a cow drops out of the sky from somewhere and lands on your enemy and most of the time kills them instantly.

Sometimes if you're lucky you'll also get a little movie where it shows a guy walking along, minding his own business when a wyvern suddenly comes swooping by with a cow in it's talons. This happens right before the spell goes into effect. - Lady Rend

Philip: Mooo!
phiiiiiiiilliiiiiiip!!!!!
someone has just told me that x-box is better than game cube! is this true?! - disturbed guy
Philip: The XBox is a large bulky system. But it is not better the Game Cube, it is only bigger. The bigger size of the XBox is to make it appeal to people who feel they need to own something that big; because they know that they are very small. In other words, XBox is huge to make up for the sexual inadequacy of it's designers. It's all Fruedian.
Well, Team Buddies has two things against it coming to other systems: It didn't sell.  It's nearly impossible to find that darn game anywhere.

Second, the control.  The PS version actually uses all 8 buttons on the controller.  It'd be fairly hard to switch it to GBA.

And now that I think of it, the extreme political incorrectness could get in the way of it being on a Nintendo system.  "Winna have crispy fry pork with noodle!" isn't exactly the sorta thing I think Nintendo would let developers get away with.

(Conveniently forgets about Conker's Bad Fur Day.) - NeoVid

Philip whacks NeoVid with a frying pan.
