WWF Wrestlemania 2000 Game by THQ Reviewed by Fox foxydude@zdnetonebox.com Save: Password save in Championship Released: 1999 Works with: All GB systems **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: When going to buy it's N64 counterpart, (which was sold out), I saw this and thought it might tide me over. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: THQ put in several modes for the game. There are Vs., Survivor Series, Championship, Tag Team, and Gauntlet. When you pick a match choice, you than choose normal ring or cage ring. In a normal ring match, you can knock your opponent out of the ring. The controls are similar to the 64 version, but all of the moves except for the finishers are the same for each wrestler. As for options, you can choose the difficulty, or read bios of the wrestlers included. There is a 2 Player mode, but I have not tried it out. Liked: Many modes to entertain you, can change difficulty. Hated: Same moves for each wrestler, hard to wrestle out of ring. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: For a GB game, the graphics are better than usual. You can tell some wrestlers apart, while others are the same except for their hair. Each person in the crowd looks exactly like every other person, but you are focusing on the wrestlers so it doesn't matter too much. There are even intros for wrestlers, but only in Championship mode. Liked: The intros are ok for a GB game, the ring looks nice. Hated: Inability to see wrestlers faces or distingush wrestlers with same outfit. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: There really isn't much to listen too. All I noticed were two songs, one of them sounding like the Raw Is War theme. Liked: Songs weren't too irritating, Raw Is War theme is on. Hated: No intro songs, and only 2 songs. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: For me, the controls responded. The finishers worked, and I never got frustrated when trying to pull off a move. The problem is when out of the ring, the wrestlers never want to fight, just get back into the ring. This disgusted me. Other than that, nothing interesting to point out. Liked: Controls responded, varied moves. Hated: No fighting out of ring. That's about it. **************************************************************************** Improve: Try to get a little more detail on the faces or heads so distingushment is easier, and include theme's for wrestlers. RIYL: WWF Attitude, and any other GB wrestling games. **************************************************************************** Final Words: This probably won't be the best GB game you ever see, but if bored with the N64 version or on a quick road trip, this will satisfy your gaming needs. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: *** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: **** Personal Opinion: **** Total: 17 stars Final Score: 68% (Reviewer's Score: 75%) **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: If there are some, I must have missed them.
