Wave Race Game by Nintendo Reviewed by Myau84 Myau84@aol.com Size: 2MB Save: Battery Released: 1992 Works with: All Game Boys Opening Snide Remarks: I traded Wave Race 64 for Game Boy Camera,Battle Arena Toshindon, Contra: The Alien Wars, and this. I didn't know much about the game, just that it was a Player's Choice game. Description: You race in an overhead view. Not much to it. Gameplay: Yawn. You hold B and turn. This game is so boring. The computer cheats all the time. You can't seem to keep a constant speed like it. It gets so repetitive. Every level is exactly the same. The slower jet skis are easier to control. The faster ones tend to "skid" more as you turn. Graphics: There is not much detail at all in Wave Race. Every jet ski (which don't even look like jet skis) are exactly the same. The water doesn't look anything like water, and everything else is just very plain. I think they could of done a much better job. Only the scenes before & after races are decent. Audio: This reminds me of Track & Field. You don't hear music while playing, only before & after races. The sound effects are mainly the engine sounding and the water splashing. It gets rather annoying. Replay Value: Well I've had it for 2 days and it's already collecting dust. Need I say more? Final Analysis: I have no clue how a horrid game like this could of sold a million copies. What's worse, it's made by Nintendo! This is one of the worst racing games I've ever played. It's not worth anything near $20. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Overall Gameplay: 4.5 Graphics: 3 Audio: 3 Replay Value: 0 Final Score: 2.5
