Amazing Spiderman, The Game by Rare Reviewed by Brak (PLOK253) Size: 512 Kilobits Save: no save feature Released: 1991 Works with: Gameboy, Super Gameboy, Gameboy Color Opening Snide Remarks: Hey! A game with Spiderman! What a cool idea! Spidy is one cool superhero! Oh, and the game is by Rare! How can you go wrong! You'd be very surprised! Gameplay: This game is a side-scroller. However, like a lot of other early side-scrollers for the Gameboy, it stinks! You shoot webs at your enemies that move at a turtle's pace, while the enemies are able to easily attack! Graphics: Rare tried to put detail into the graphics, but they failed miserably. Everything is really dark, and it becomes a strain to your eye. Sound: Pathetic. The sound effects are plain and stupid. Rare didn't even try. There aren't that many sound effects either (but with a game like this, that might actually be a good thing) Music: Well, the music isn't that bad for an early Gameboy game. It is somewhat catchy, and it does kind of give the game a Marvel Comic setting. Play Control: It takes a couple of presses of the button until Spiderman finally responds at some areas! Not only that, but the webs move at a pretty slow pace as well! This makes the game hard for the wrong reason! If it had the winning play control Mega Man has..... Final Analysis: Don't play this game if you're a fan of Rare or Spiderman. In fact, don't play it even if you don't like Rare or Spiderman! I know this review isn't as lengthy as some of the other reviews on this site, but let me just get my point across. This game is utter crap! Score Gameplay: 0 Graphics: * Sound: 0 Music: *** Play Control: 0 Total: 16 Final Score: 16% Currently Known Codes: I believe there are codes for this game, but I don't know any off hand. It doesn't matter, the game would still stink!
