Spy Vs. Spy(color) Game by Kemco Reviewed by Mike H. DianaH7777@aol.com (mom's email) Size: 8 Megabits Save: Password Released: 1999 Works with: Game Boy Color ONLY **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I've never been a huge fan of MAD Magazine's "Spy Vs. Spy" Cartoon, but after seeing a couple reviews, I knew I had to get it. After playing it, I decided there just wasn't enough reviews for this great game. It deserves more. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: Game play is easy to learn, fun to play, and hugely addictive. A game that is highly original and even, funny, in a weird way. You choose the traditional white or black spy. There are 32 different levels to play in, and they are divided up via the way you escape. An example being, if you choose to play one of the first 8 levels, you will escape those levels by flying away in a plane. Your mission in all the levels is to run through the building looking for 4 items (CD, Key, etc.) and a briefcase. This is hard to do though, because there is the other spy trying to do the same thing. You both can set traps in various desks and rooms, and when you see each other in the building you can fight w/ knives or clubs, or even bare hands. Players can go up against friends or the computer. Liked: Everything. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Graphics are crisp and clear and everything is easy to see. Graphics this good require the Game Boy Color ONLY. Liked: Wonderful graphics throughout the entire game. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Audio on this game is everything you would expect from a Game Boy game, I guess. It is not annoying and sounds kinda like spy music, kinda not. Nothing really bad in this area. Liked: I love when my spy chuckles after placing a bomb in a desk or winning the other spy in a fight. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Play control can take a little while to get used to. It is east after that. Placing bombs is B, opening doors is A, pretty simple to control. The most confusing part is placing bombs down, because you press B as many as 4 times to get the bomb you want out. Design is great. Levels are complex, so you and the other spy must look at your map often. Each level is different, and exits and items randomly move throughout the buildings. Nice touch for replay value. Liked: Game control is easy to learn thanks to the nifty Training Mode for novice spys. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Improve: Like Jazzman said, there are'nt enough videos at the end of levels. That's about all I'd like to see changed. There is five humorous videos for 32 levels.... RIYL: This game is unlike any other game I've played before. In a good way. **************************************************************************** Final Words: It is a sin to not to have this game in your collection. Find it and buy it now! It is worth the money. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ***** (5 stars) Graphics: ***** (5 stars) Sound/Music: ***** (5 stars) Play Control/Game Design: ***** (5 stars) Personal Opinion: ***** (5 stars) Total: 25 stars.
