Survival Kids Game by Konami Reviewed by Josh frogzop@farts.com Size: 8 Megabits (1 Megabyte) Save: 3 save slots Released: 11/24/99 Works with: Gameboy Color and Gameboy **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: How could anyone not get this game? **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: It's a very good mixture of Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Harvest Moon, but with better replay value. There are eight, you heard me, eight different endings to the game. The endings range from dying on a raft to finding another boat and leaving. The objective is to survive and get off the island. This game includes the violence of killing animals for food, but the violence is very cartoony (kind of like Mario or Zelda) Liked: They gameplay is good and solid. Hated: There's nothing to hate **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Great Graphics. The menus are easy to read. Animals are well defined. Everything looks as good as possible on a Game Boy. Not very many colors, but that's because there shouldn't be (it's a sandy Island) Liked: The ability to say, "Hey that's a porcupine," or "that's a fox." Hated: Still nothing to hate. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Perfect audio. A little on the lively side to keep up hopes. Each weapon has a different sound. You can hear animals when they appear in the viewable area. Liked: Knowing when animals are around, instead of consintrating on looking. Hated: Why is there a hated section for this game? **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Walking is fluent and responsive, as with the menus. The weapons take a while to swing, cast, or shoot, just like in real life! Map is useful to show you where you are in relativity to the rest of the island. Liked: Wow, this is amazing control Hated: sometimes slowdown is a little anoying, but like I said, it's no problem. **************************************************************************** Improve: How can you inprove on such a great game. It has a great story and other things you don't find in lots of games. RIYL: Zelda: Link's Awakening or Harvest Moon **************************************************************************** Final Words: This game is great, if not game of the year, than sleeper hit of the year. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: 5 stars Graphics: 5 stars Sound/Music: 5 stars Play Control/Game Design: 4.5 stars Personal Opinion: 5 stars Total: 24.5 Final Score: 98% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: No codes (as to my knowledge)
