Samurai Showdown Game published by SNK Game developed by Takara Reviewed by JayGee1 JayGee1@aol.com Save: No Released: 1996 Works with: Everything **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Earthquake is cheap, fat, and cool, too! **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: Well, it's standard fighting fare. SD characters beaten each other up. Actually, it gets pretty fun with the items falling like bombs and plates of food. A and B do attacks, different things for each other. Also, there is an impressive list of characters, all of the arcade originals are here, if you activate a code to get 3 more guys. Liked: Variety, tons of characters Hated: Nothing **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Shoot me, I love SD characters. But the backgrounds are nice, when you first play each character you see a scene and their background story. Between fights is the usual banter. Odd stuff. Liked: Ability to easily tell between characters Hated: no GBC support for multi-pallete **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Audio is good. Changing music, sound effects with each attack. Nothing spectacular Liked: Pork Hated: Turkey **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Challenge is alterable and the control is great. With three buttons you can do A, B, and A+B with directions so many moves are possible. Liked: Lotsa Moves Hated: Nothing **************************************************************************** Improve: GBC Support! And um, EXP builiding, uhm, battery back-up...and Foy should be a secret character, like the Referee RIYL: Street Fighter II, Power Quest, Mortal Kombat I & II (The one with both on the same cart) **************************************************************************** Final Words: Ippon! **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay:[}[}[}[}[}(5 Pies) Graphics: [}[}[}[}[} Sound/Music: [}[}[} Play Control/Game Design: [}[}[}[}[} Personal Opinion: [}[}[}[}[} Total: 23 Final Score: 92% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: Hit select a lot during the intro
