Rugrats: The Movie Game by THQ Reviewed by JayGee1 JayGee1@aol.com Save: Password Released: 1998 Works with: All,but designed for GBC **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Tommy, I'm scared! **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: You play as Tommy, maybe you play as more, I never got past Level 3. Your goal is to collect toys and reach the exit in different places like the basement, house and backyard. Liked: Variety of design Hated: You can only collect toys so many times(Not in the game, I mean it gets tedious) **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Nice work here. The intro has the kids lumbering by and through out the game the characters look nice and the backgrounds look even better. However, it can be hard to tell what are platforms, enemies, etc. Liked: animation Hated: Toys were 2 colors, orange and yellow **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The gameboy has never been strong on sound. However the music in the game sounds familiar, yet it is annoyingly repetitive. And sound effects I'm not even sure exist other than a sparsly placed ding when getting 1 of the 32 toys needed to beat the level. Liked: Familiar tune Hated: Familiar tune **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Have I been spoiled? Do I expect all games to have their characters that jump high? Well, Tommy does, but you can't tell. Platforms are iffy and he accelerates slow in the air, like one of those BIG bouncing balls that pulsates as it rises. Liked: High jumps Hated: But how could you tell if they were? **************************************************************************** Improve: Give control of different characters from the start with different abilities, like SMB2. Toys don't NEED to be collected. RIYL: Gex, Croc, other 3d games poorly translated to the GBC **************************************************************************** Final Words: Tommy, we sucked **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: *** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: * Play Control/Game Design: * Personal Opinion: ** Total: 11 Final Score: 44% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: Yeah, but I don't know them.
