Ren and Stimpy: Veediots Game by T*HQ Reviewed by Farfetch'd joshnickerson@usa.net Size: 2 Megs Save: None Released: 1993 Works with: Any Gameboy **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Hmmm, another Ren and Stimpy game for the Gameboy? Oh joy! **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: This game is fun--. Before you get too excited, let me say this game is fun compared to Ren and Stimpy: Space Cadet Adventures. There are only three levels, and you play Ren in two of them and Stimpy in the middle stage. The stages are losely based on three classic Ren and Stimpy Episodes, "The Boy Who Cried Rat", "Stimpy's Invention" and "In The Army". In each you have to reach the goal in an insanely short amount of time, which really limits you to memorizing the layout of each stage to get to the goal on time, whichmeans you can't explore each level looking for hidden stuff. Liked: It's much better than Space Cadets. Hated: No time to explore the level. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The graphics are the best part of this pak. Ren and Stimpy look like their TV counterparts and even wear the appropriate costumes for each stage. They also have cool animations. However, it is difficult to tell if an object is part of the background or an item you need. Liked: Cool cartoon-like graphics. Hated: Difficult to distinguish objects from background. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The music is okay. Familiar Ren and Stimpy tunes along with some generic beep and boops. Ren and Stimpy each speak whenever they get hurt or find something. Liked: The speech Hated: Music isn't very catchy. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The play control is a bit stiff. Sometimes you have to really push a button to get anywhere. Since there are only three levels and scarcely any hidden areas or items, once you beat the game, there's no reason to play again. Stimpy's stage does feature puzzle elements and will probably be the stage people play the most. Liked: Some puzzle elements. Hated: Only three lousy levels. **************************************************************************** Improve: Yeah, like they'll ever make another Ren and Stimpy game. When was the last time you saw that cartoon? RIYL: If you liked this game, I suggest getting a hole drilled in your head. **************************************************************************** Final Words: This game is a bit enjoyable, much more than Space Cadets. If you do find it, don't pay more than $10 for it. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: * Graphics: ** Sound/Music: ** Play Control/Game Design: ** Personal Opinion: ** Total: 9 Final Score: 36% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: none
