(Tom Clancy's)Rainbow Six Game by: Red Storm Reviewed by: Robb rob__dale@hotmail.com (2 underscores) Size: 8 mbits Save: battery Released: 2000 Works with: Gameboy Color only **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: A ton of people I know love the PC version, and since I'm the only one of them with a GBC, I was nominated to buy it. Besides that, I heard it was awesome, so I picked it up. Give us what you got, Red Storm. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: This is a top-down RPG thing like GTA or pokemon. There's also a bit of First-Person Shooter stuff, but its mostly top-down. The purpose of each level is to complete mission objectives(saving hostages, defusing bombs, etc.). That's really about it. The gameplay is great and lots of fun. Liked: everything Hated: nothing **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Although the characters are very small, the animation is good and realistic. The bad guys aren't as "smart" as would be appreciated, but it isn't enough to change my opinion of the game. Textures are well done and look quite realistic. The night vision view is extremely well made. Liked: everything Hated: nothing **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Great audio. The sound effects seem superbly natural. The music is perfect. Very....um...spy-ish. Liked: everything Hated: nothing **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Play control is excellent. Buttons respond perfectly and you can walk diagonally rather than just side-side, up-down. The Game involves a lot of pre-game adjusting. This makes the game much more strategy based, which is great. It can become a bit tedious, but not enough to care. There are a CRAPLOAD of options on this game. Clothes, weapons, characters, and teams are all fully selectable. A lot of stategy goes into the "Plan" option, in which you mark out a route on a map. All of this can be a bit time-consuming, so an AC adapter would be a good idea. Also, the characters move a bit too slow. About the same as pokemon. Again, this really isn't much of a problem and would be expected from a game about a SWAT team. Liked: everything(almost) Hated: slightly tedious strategy element, slow character **************************************************************************** Improve: I like you just the way you are, baby RIYL: James Bond 007 **************************************************************************** Final Words: Not as good as Rainbow 7, but way better than Rainbow 4. Seriously, this game is awesome. It has a few little problems, but nothing to fuss about. I loved it and I think you will too. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ***** Graphics: ***** Sound/Music: ***** Play Control/Game Design: ***** Personal Opinion: ***** Total: 25 Final Score: 100% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: none
