PO - Ké - MON! **************** Pokémon fans rejoice! This new theme has been introduced to the series whilst Ash takes on the *drum roll please!* *dumdumdumdum* ORANGE LEAGUE in the animé. (Yes, its an ANIMé, it comes from Japan, so I call it as such ;P ) Anyway, John Loeffler and gang have done it again and created a wonderfully upbeat and beautiful, not to mention ultra stick-in-your-head-for-hours catchy! The parts indicated above as *shouting* remind me of the Kirk Franklin Christian song 'DO YOU WANT A REVOLUTION??' The verse is nice and mellow, and, since this is the TV version, expect another verse in the 'Pokémon World' CD to be released this upcoming February. The chorus is most beautifully done. It's message is simple, but the music and voice talent are just incredible. You will want to sing along too >;P This song goes along simply great with the new cinematics. The people that edited those scenes are geniuses. Being one who has seen both the English AND Japanese intros for The Orange League episodes, I can honestly and safely say, we got the creme of the crop in overall presentation. The Japanese, in comparison with ours, is much a much more mellow song, and the visuals just don't seem to work for the song (perhaps if I could understand Japanese, they would.) Anyhow, The US version uses about 80% of the original created cinematics that the Japanese version uses (Don't worry, they left in all the good stuff) and 20% of scenes from upcoming episodes. The few scenes they took out were basically time-wasting things, like the scene where Gyarados hits Team Rocket in their awesome new Magikarp-sub. in The Japanese version, they get hit a whopping 5-7 times. For the song crafted for US audiences, The editing was done top notch, to the best of thier ability, for certain. Watch it, and you will hopefully agree that it is the best of the two opening cinemas thus far in the series (Staryu and Snorlax gained a million 'cool points'(TM!) with me since my viewing of it. I only regret we don't have a US version of 'Lapras Ni Notte', the ending theme/cinema ending for the Orange League episodes (That WB network and their stupid advertisements -_- ) To be fair, and not TOTALLY biased for the song, online opinions where I hang out are mixed, and bittersweet. The opinions are generally split among 3 groups: 1. They absolutely LOVE it (like me! ^^) 2. They HATE it, or 3. They think it's an okay song, but they feel homesick for the original theme. I do admit, I like the old theme too, but this song... this song is great. I would place it as the old theme's equal, perhaps even a little better, in personal enjoyment. Final Thoughts: A healthy change in both theme song and intro cinema. GREAT! Also, enjoy it's awesomeness while you can. My Pokémon expert online friend, who is 'in the know' informs me that the orange league is only about 30-35 episodes long, and then the series will take a turn and *SPOILER!* Ash will apparently be competing against something called DUMDUMDUM, the JOLT LEAGUE! ONE MORE THING, I've also seen the Japanese intro for this JOLT LEAGUE series, and it is absolutely fantastic! The song 'OK!' is very upbeat and action packed, and it goes well with the graphics! PTT's score: 10.0, or for you people who can't accept perfect scores, 9.9 (aka 10!) ~PTT
