Pokemon Pikachu 2 GS Made by Nintendo Reviewed by Blastrax (blastrax@hotmail.com) Released: October 2000 Battery Life: A long time, with special features, but thats later... Colors on-screen: Yellow, black, and red! Serial Communications Rate: it has the IR port....dont know the speed Use with: Gameboy Color (used with "mystery gift" option in G/S) or other Pokemon Pikachu 2's, give gifts to you friends! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Opening Snide Remarks: Ok, i got my original one stolen, and left my second in my pants and it got washed. I'm not exactly sure why I bought this, maybe to put to rest my nights of lonliness........ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Impressions: Ok, if you are familiar with the original Pocket Pikachu, its the same size, looks like a mini gameboy, but this one has a grey front and silver sparkles! Also, a brand new, somewhat easier game! Pikachu turns over a playing card, and you have to guess if the second one is higher or lower. If you get the same value, you win too. The clock also is a bit different. The numbers are on the top half of the screen, and pikachu runs around the bottom half. Also, if you press right on the D-Pad, you can see how many steps you took total, and up to 7 days ago. When you choose the gift option, there are two new choices, send and recieve. These are used for sending watts to another pikachu, or to Pokemon G/S (Note: you cant send information from Pokemon G/S to the Pokemon Pikachu). If you press start, you will see SOUND, CLOCK, and COLOR. Sound is for turning it on or off, and color is for setting the color to more black or more yellow. The clock option has one of the cooler features. You can set the alarm, and you can choose either the basic melody or a custom made song! The select button shows your relationship with Pikachu, but also a picture of his mood too! One small, battery saving feature is that if you press the B button, it will "turn off" the unit, so batteries arent wasted. Of course, he has over 20 new animations! So far I have seen him hula-hoop, play N64, and work out to music! FEEL THE BURN!!! Liked: It's in color, has the fancy sparkly front half, and interacts with Pokemon G/S. Hated: The fact that when a King shows up first then an Ace...thats not right. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Improve: It had lots of improvements over the original Pokemon Pikachu, and I don't think it can get any better. Maybe release one with a gold front half? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Final Words: This is great if you like pokemon, or if you feel heartache after having your best bud stolen......nevermind. Get it if you like Pokemon or want to use that "Mystery gift" option in Pokemon G/S. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Score: % 99.5% +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Secrets: Well, the instructions say something good happens to those who give gifts too, but no one else by me owns one.
