Mad Catz Battery Pack System/accessory by Mad Catz Reviewed by Adrock Battery Life: Full-charge, 10 hours Use with: Game Boy Color (Also with Game Boy Pocket, read below) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Opening Snide Remarks: Mad Catz, can they be trusted? They made us the Game Boy Camera to PC link. While it's not licensed by Nintendo... well, we'll give this thing a try. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Impressions: Do you like or dislike battery packs? Why? Bad experience with one? Most problems are with charging. If you charge overnight, every night that you play, you should never have a problem with this device. The device will eventually no longer charge. But then, you can go buy another one. You may be skeptical, but $15 instead of stacks and stacks of batteries, makes perfect sense. It will take quite a while before the device just stops charging, I'm guessing maybe near 500 charges. The devices are purple, or the color I got was. I'm not sure if there are different colors available. Anyways, this device goes where your batteries would usually go. It hooks into those hooks where your battery lid goes on, and has a little wire that heads out to the AC Adaptor port. Some battery paks plug directly into the battery connectors but not this one... the only thing it uses the battery compartment for is to hook and stay on the system itself. How it charges, is you plug the AC Adaptor into a little hole on the battery pack. (It comes with both the pack and the adaptor by the way, and you can use the AC Adaptor by itself if you like, so you actually get two products when buying this.) Just plug the pack into the adaptor and the adaptor into the wall and you're charging. You can even have the adaptor hooked up to the charger and wall and play at the same time. I'm not sure if it still charges though, I think the charge stays neutral and it's just like playing with the AC adaptor. Can you use this device with the Game Boy Pocket? Yes, you can. But it won't fit in the back of your battery compartment so you will have to let it hang down from the system. Rather tacky, but it works. Liked: No more buying batteries for a long time. ^o^ Hated: You have to hold the GBC a little differently because of it's newly found purple bulge hanging out of the battery compartment. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Improve: A way to check how charged the battery pack is. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Final Words: If you're looking for a battery pack, there's certainly nothing wrong with this one. It's not official. But it's clear purple, and it will match if you have the clear purple system! Even the AC Adaptor is clear purple. Get rid of those batteries. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Score: 90% +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
