Itchy and Scratchy in Miniature Golf Madness Game by Acclaim Reviewed by Sebulba113 (Sebulba113@yahoo.com) Size: Umm...1 Million Megabits! (Dundun-DADADUN!)(Actually 512 Kilobits) Save: Nope Released: 1992 Works with: Every GameBoy **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Wow. Adrock hates this thing. While I agree, it's not great, it is kinda fun. (Hey, I payed about $15 for it...and it was with a gift certificate at a music store.) **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: It's platform gaming. Period. You, Scratchy, have to hit a golf ball around the level, for who knows what reason. In the way are "Obstacles" and that annoyingly little Son of a Gundam, Itchy. He shows up a lot, brandishing weapons such as knives, flamethrowers, bombs, and other assorted ouchy-devices. Scratchy can pick up weapons too, ranging from baseball bats to bladed frisbees to a big ol' mallet. Get the ball in the hole, end the level. Simple. There are also erasers to take strokes of your score card, and extra lives. This is the game I'll pick up every once in a while, play, put it back in it's case, and forget about. Pull it out later, and play it again. The kind of game you play when you're just looking to pass the time. Liked: It's a decent platformer, with minigolf. Hated: Wait...Minigolf in a platformer? What the heck, man? **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Basic graphics, don't expect anything fantastic from the levels. Scratchy looks like Scratchy, Itchy looks like Itchy. Nice death animations (i.e., Itchy's decapitated head being knocked away after a good hit with a baseball bat, Scratchy's bones collapsing after a flamethrower blast). Liked: Nice little character animations. Hated: Levels are very plain. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Same kind of music in every level, clunky sound effects. That's about it. Liked: Umm...It has an option to turn it off? Hated: No TV Theme music. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Control seems floaty. Hitting that stupid ball is kind of hard. Levels are laid out so you don't fly through the course, there are some tricky shots. Liked: Levels are designed to provide a bit of a challenge. Hated: Controls seem to be loose. **************************************************************************** Improve: If they decide to make a Simpsons game for GameBoy, just convert the old arcade game. Now THAT was a good Simpsons game. RIYL: Platformers. Pretty Generic description for a pretty generic game. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Not a must have game, but it's not bad. You can probably find a copy on eBay or at a pawn shop for a resonable price if you're interested. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: *** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: ** Play Control/Game Design: *** Personal Opinion: **** (I like it. Weird, huh?) Stars Total: 15 Final Score: 60% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: The "Do Nothing" code-hold A when you turn on the system. On the title screen, press up, up, left, B. Tah-Dah! It does nothing. Don't you feel special?
