The sequel to the hit farming game, Harvest Moon for SNES. I couldn't believe how many people were so excited about Harvest Moon GB. The release date kept getting postponed, which just made people madder. But people were just so anxious to ge their hands on this game... So I thought, "If all these people are so excited about this game, why don't I try it?" And that's what I did. Let's see how it is. Gameplay: Well Natsume still has the most adidctive game in my books. I must have played this game, like, five or six hours straight when I first got it. You play as a boy or girl who must restore an old ranch that used to belong to the Harvest Spirit. There is actually a lot of things to do. You can go shopping in town, build a better house, plant and harvest lots of different kinds of crops, take care of cows and chickens, harvest mushrooms in the underground caves where the Harvest Sprites live, and lots more, all in an effort to please the Harvest Spirit and become a Ranch Master. There are some things that aren't so great, like once you get your ranch up and running, threre's really nothing else to do. It all gets really repetitive, but the gameplay is nice and I really enjoyed it. Graphics: It has a Super GameBoy enhancement which looks really good, it's really good on GameBoy Pocket and GameBoy Color gives it a lot of color. There are a couple things I don't like. For instance, the boy from the front looks like he's wearing a hocky mask and the cows sort of look like pigs. But the graphics are okay and eveything is nicely drawn. Sound: Each tool has its own little sound - there's a jump sound, a sound when you pick something up, and more. They're all well made and nice to play with. Music: Hmmm... Each season (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) in the game has its own song and they're all really cool (especially Summer and Fall). But the problem is that the songs are short and that means that once it plays, it just starts over again. You don't really notice this though because you're doing lots of things all the time. Play Control: I didn't have any problems except that you have to run everywhere to do everything before the day ends and to run you press "A". So you're running around everywhere holding the "A" button. I just thought it would be better if Natsume made it that the normal way you move was running. Replay Value: Not too good. It goes like this... You play for a month, you get bored and don't play for a month etc. etc. Final Analysis: If you're into simulation games, farming, and are just one of those outside people, then by all means pick up this game because this is a game for you.
