Harvest Moon Game by: Natsume Review by: Matthew64 varshop@sat.net Size: 4 Megabits Save: 1 Save slot ;( Released: 1998 Works with: every known Game Boy **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I bought this at Wal-Mart when it first came out, after playing the SNES version. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: When you start up this game you will become addicted. The more you play, the more boring it is. Until it finally becomes a chore too play. It is very much like a smaller version of the SNES version, except you can be male or female, and its a lot more repetitive than the SNES Harvest Moon. Its very confined as you can only explore the farm and the cellar, unlike the SNES Harvest Moon; where you can walk around a huge town and a forest, plus The SNES version is more of any RPG you can even get married. Well there is very little Replay unlike the SNES Harvest Moon that has multiple endings. Liked: Fun at first Hated: Crap compared too the SNES version **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Well it has nice character animations. The animals look great except the cows which look like pigs. The menu is simple and very easy too use. The graphics are overall up to par with the SNES Harvest Moon except the color part. It has a few good Game Boy Color palettes that have some decent color. The buildings have deep and vivid backgrounds, which look great on a GBC. The few cutscenes are cool also :) . Liked: Rich Deep great all around graphics Hated: weird cows **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Enjoyable music loops through over and over. The sound is very good, but its just your average clinks and clanks. Liked: Ok music Hated: needs more songs **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: One big complaint is that you can't walk around in the town. The controls are ok but at times they are very unresponsive and you mess up (throw the crops in the wrong direction). Another negative thing is that the game is very slow, but the game seems to be designed that way. Another bad thing is that you can get lost in the fields very easy and end up the opposite if where you wanted to go which is really horrible since you have very little time too get things done. Liked: overall design Hated: three words: Slow as hell **************************************************************************** Improve: A direct port of the SNES version RIYL: nothing else like it really except maybe Zelda DX **************************************************************************** Final Words: If you really want this game don't buy it now wait for the DX version or wait longer and hope they port the SNES version. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: **** Play Control/Game Design: *** Personal Opinion: *** Total: 16 X * Final Score: 64% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: ??
