Game Shark Pro Version 3.0 Accessory by Interact Reviewed by Philip Wesley Released: 2000 Use with: Game Boy, Game Boy, Pocket, Game Boy Light, Game Boy Color. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Opening Snide Remarks: I know.. I already reviewed the old version and I hated it; but.. oh.. what time changes! I figured I should upgrade.. and I'm glad I did! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Impressions: It's still a lame cheat device; but this time around.. I found codes that are ACTUALLY USEFUL! For an example, there is a code for Link's Awakening that causes Link to become transparent. Sound useless? Well.. yeah. BUT that is the type of innovative code I was looking for! Or the hidden items in Metal Gear Solid. I wonder what that Banana was there for? Anyways, the device has better codes now. That's good. It's also shaped differently. It's shaped like a Mega Memory Card now and is MUCH better quality. The menu is changed and the code generator is different as well. Liked: I bought Super Mario Bros. Deluxe the day it came out; unfortunately. Because the first run of the units had a programming glitch. :( I got all of the red coins, and all the Yoshi Eggs, and all the Score Medals in Challenge and didn't get any new pictures. :( But, thankfully, I was able to use this little device to rectify that. Thank you Interact. The sparkly black caseing is nice looking, and the device works better. You can put in longer codes, and it works on Game Boy Color games. I liked how when you took it out of the box there was a big yellow sticker announcing that useing it on Pokémon was "At your own risk". Ha ha ha. The unit is much more refined now, and I like that. It finally LOOKS like quality. Hated: The new Code Generator is clunky. Oh, yes it is. And the cartridge STILL hangs out the back. Oh, well. It's STILL a cheat device. But now.. it's a cheat device with "style". +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Improve: Maybe if it had some extras.. besides codes. That Code Breaker thing has an anti-flicker option.. I want an option like that. Something that turns OFF the sprite limit. I would also like a slow-motion/turbo speed option. Something that could make a game like COntra move at the speed of the "Dodrio" Game Boy in Pokémon Stadium would kick heavy. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Final Words: Well... if you want to cheat.. this one FINALLY inherited some class. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Score: 87% +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Secrets: Nope.
