Blade Game by Activison Reviewed by Dade thrasher@inconnect.com Size: 16M Save: Password Released: 2000 Works with: Game Boy Color Only **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Hmm...a game about a movie about a comic book? Sounds good to me! **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: Blade gives quite a variety of game play types throughout the game. There's shooting, kung fu, and sword slicing. The only problem I saw in this department was the strange fluctuation of difficulty. The first level is quite easy until the last boss. (If you need a hint on the last boss of level 1, use B to block until he starts flying, then swing at him. Stay against the walls!) Liked: Multiple game play types Hated: Difficulty fluctuation **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The graphics in this game are pretty sweet. The title almost looks like a photo. I must say that Game Boy developers are getting better at this. Liked: Realistic looking scenes, smooth animation Hated: Nothing **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The music and sound is where this game is at its low point. The music is awfully repetitive, and the sound's not much, even as far as Game Boy goes. Liked: First hearing the music Hated: Repetitive music, bad sound effects **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The controls are pretty straight forward, except for the gunning scenes. The gunning scenes are pretty awkward at first, but you get the hang of them pretty quickly. Liked: Straight forward controls, crisp control Hated: Not much **************************************************************************** Improve: The only thing that comes to mind here is adding more of a soundtrack and maybe redoing the sound effects. RIYL: Double Dragon series **************************************************************************** Final Words: This is quite a nice game, and I recommend it. It should be a nice companion on those lonely nights and long car trips ;D **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: 5 Graphics: 5 Sound/Music: 2 1/2 Play Control/Game Design: 4 1/2 Personal Opinion: 5 Total: 22 Final Score: 88% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: I'm not one for giving out codes, sorry :D
