All-Star Baseball 2000 Game by: Acclaim Reviewed by: The Solid Snake (solidsnake885@yahoo.com) Size: I think 8 Mega-bits Save: No- this is a crime dammit!!! a crime!!! I HATE passwords!!! Released: 1999 Works with: GBC only **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I went to EB world to get a good sports game for the GBC. I LOVE baseball, and I wanted a more simulation type game, so I skipped slugfest and got this one. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: It's baseball, but without lots of little details that would've made this game fun. The animation is choppy, the overall feel of the game is bland, the pitching sucks, the fielding sucks, and the game gets very frustrating! First of all, the 8 pitches in the game are crap. You only really use 2 or 3 of them, and the others are all the same really. The menu system for pitching really kills the pace, and the fielding is almost impossible without auto-fielding (which I hate). All the players bat the same. A really crappy player has as good a chance at getting a grand slam as Sosa or Griffy or Mcguire would. The teams all seem the same too, other than differant colors and names. The whole gameplay aspect really blows. And what about the battery!? You can't save!? That means you have to write HUGE passwords, consisting of CASE-SENSITIVE letters and every punctuation mark that's on your keyboard. That really sucks cock-a-doodle-do!!! Liked: NOTHING REALLY Hated: just about everything **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: This part also blows. All the players are black, not African-American black, just plain black. They all look the same other than thier team colors. The crowd looks bad. You know what? Everything here is bad!!! Liked: Nothing Hated: Everything **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: No music, crappy sounds. That was easy! Liked: There actually is sound! Hated: The sound sucks! **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The batting is good, but once the player pitches, you can't move! This is terrible and unrealistic! Also, the pitching controls stink, and fielding is too slow. Liked: Nothing Hated: everything **************************************************************************** Improve: The return policy. RIYL: Ken Griffy Jr. Slugfest **************************************************************************** Final Words: Get slugfest. I should have. This game REALLY sucks! **************************************************************************** Score: Gameplay: 1/2 Graphics: 1/2 Sound/Music: 1/2 Play Control/Game Design: 1/2 Personal Opinion: 1/2 Total: 5 Final Score: 20% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: Who cares? Editor's Note: Oh, on a note here.. did you know that this game will not work on a Wide Boy 64? That's how badly coded it is..
