Chapter 1

It was early morning on March 12th. "Good Morning Katie." "Good Morning Michelle." Katie looked at her watch, almost 10:00A.M. ""I can't believe I slept so late on my birthday." "Your birthday?" "Yeah, I would've stayed in Viridian Forest over night but my parents said they'd have my present sent to the Pokémart here." "Cool."Hope walked into the room and jumped on Katie's lap. "Good morning Hope, what do you say we go find out what my parents sent me." "Charmander." Sandshrew came in gasping like it was dying of starvation and than did a little act of it dying and played dead. "Ok Sandshrew, we'll have breakfast first." Sand shrew jumped up and anxiously pushed Katie's back pack toward her. "Come on guys! Time for breakfast!" Bulbasaur, Rattata, Pidgey, and Pikachu came running in. Katie handed out food, got up and grabbed an apple and began eating. "I don't know about you but I'm haveing room service bring up a real breakfast." Michelle said to Katie. "Go ahead but your paying for your own breakfast." Katie grabbed another apple and some grapes. Hope, Bulbasaur, Rattata, Pidgey, Sandshrew and Pikachu had finished eating when Bubbles the Squirtle walked in. "Squirtle Squirtle." It said sleepily. "Here's some food Bubbles." Katie gave Bubbles something to eat. "I'm going to talk to some other trainers about the Gym Leader so I know what to expect when I face him. "Katie said to Michelle "Ok, I'll meet you at the Pokémart in half an hour." Katie left with her Pokémonfollowing her. "If you guys are comming with me you'll have to stay in your pokéballs." They all looked at each other and got into their Pokéballs, all exept Pikachu of course. "I know your afraid Pikachu but theirs nothing to be scared of. You'll have to get over your fear someday."Pikachu looked at the pokéball in fear. "All right you can stay out of your pokéball just this once." Pikachu smiled at Katie and climbed to her shoulder. Katie headed out the front door of the hotel and toward the Pokémon Center. "Maybe someone he's beaten could tell me something." Katie entered the Pokémon Center and drew amidiate attention because of the bright green Pikachu on her shoulder. "Can anyone tell me anything about the Gym Leader here?" Everyone was speachless because of the extremely odd Pikachu. Pikachu liked the attention and climbed on top of Katie's head. A girl walked up to Katie and said "I can tell you about Brock if you let me hold that adorible Pikachu." Katie looked up at Pikachu. "What do you say Pikachu?" "Pikachu." Pikachu leaped into the girls arms. Katie and the girl sat down. "So you want to know about Brock huh?" "Yeah I have to get ready to face him." "Oh. Brock has 2 pokémon Geodude, and Onix." Katie looked into her Pokédex and learned about Geodude and Onix. "I think they're both between Level 12 and 15." Katie looked at her watch she was surprised that is was 10:30 already. "I have to go, I said I'd meet someone at the Pokémart." "Ok, bye." Pikachu climbed back onto Katie's shoulder and waved bye as they walked out the door.

Chapter 2

Katie arrived at the Pokémart around 10:32 and Michelle was waiting for her.. "Come on, lets see what your parents got you." They walked inside and went up to the counter. "Do you have a package for Katie Mazzoli?" "Hold on I'll check." The clerk went into the back room and came out with a pakage wrapped in glittering wrapping paper. "Thank you." Katie said and brought the pakage out side. Katie took the card and opened it. "Your always kind, and loving and trustable, we hope you have a wonderful birthday. Happy Birthday. Love Mom, Dad, Cheri, Ernie, and Jeff." The card also contained 1000 dollars. Katie picked up the pakage and looked at the pretty wrapping paper. "Well don't just sit there, open it!" "I want my pokémon to see this." Katie let out all her Pokémon and unwrapped the pakage. She lifted up the top of the box and was so happy Pikachu almost fell off her shoulder when she jumped up. "A baby Growlithe! He's so cute!" "Look Katie there's a note attached to his bow." Katie looked at the note, "It says that are Arcanines back home had puppies right after I left. It also says he needs his vacines from the Pokémon Center and his name is Champ." Champ jumped up and licked Katie's face over and over. "Let's get him to the Center." Katie returned all her Pokémon (Except Pikachu of course) to their Pokéballs and put Champ back in his box. "Man your parents sure sent you a small Growlithe." "He's probably only a couple weaks old." "Oh, that makes sence." They reached the Pokémon Center and walked in. "Hey! Your back with your Pikachu!" It was the girl Katie had been talking to earlier. "What's in the box?" "My parents sent me a baby Growlithe for my birthday." "Can I see?" Katie opened the box. "His name is Champ." "He's so cute!" Champ wiggled and squirmed to escape the girls grip. "I need to get him his vacines now." The girl gave the squirming Champ to Katie. Pikachu jumped into the box and found something. "What's that?" Pikachu handed Katie a Collar and License. "I'll ask Nurse Joy what it's for." Katie walked over to the counter and waited for Nurse Joy. "Hello, may I help you?" "Yes, I need to get my Growlithe's Vacines. And can you tell me what this is for?" Katie handed Nurse Joy the Collar and License. "As long as your Pokémon wears this it doesn't count as 1 of the 6 pokémon you can keep at 1 time. Now lets go get this little guy vacinated." Katie picked up the ever squirming Champ and caried him out back. "Growlithe!" barked Champ in surprise as Nurse Joy gave him the shot. "There, that wasn't so bad was it Champ." Said Nurse Joy patting Champ on the head. Katie took the collar and with the help of Michelle put it on Champ. "I wonder what Pokémon I should use against Brock." Katie said looking in her Pokédex. "Rock type Pokémon are weakest against Grass and Water type pokémon and are strongest against Electric and fire types." Katie thought about what Pokémon would be strongest against Brocks Rock type pokémon. "Hm. I could use Bulbasaur and Oddish. They'd probably do the best." Katie went to the Pc and turned it on. "Who wants to go to Professor Oak's?" Pidgey wiggled in it's ball as if saying it wanted to go. "Ok Pidgey, you can go." Katie deposited Pidgey on the PC which transfered it to Prof. Oak, and Got Oddish out. They left the Center with their Pokémon and headed toward the Gym.

Chapter 3

Michelle tried several times to start a conversation, but Katie was to busy thinking up a Stratagy. They arived at the Gym and looked up at it. "Wow, it sure is big." Michelle said to Katie. "Yeah." Katie replied stareing at the size. "Could 1 of his pokémon be that big that he needs a Gym this size." Katie thought to herself as Michelle looked in awe at the building. "Let's go in, I'll never win a badge standing out here." The 2 girls headed inside. The building looked even bigger from the inside. They approached a boy who was just sitting there. "Are you Brock?" Katie asked the boy. "Yes." He replied. "I've come to challenge you." Katie said. "All right." He said unenthusiastically. He flicked a switch, a whole bunch of lights turned on, and a floor type thing came out. Katie looking around finally said "Oddish, go!" "Go Geodude!" Oddish stood there stareing at Geodude and vice versa. "Geodude Tackle!" Geodude came flying toward Oddish who out of fright more than defense jumped out of the way. "Oddish! Leachlife, now!" Oddish powered up and used it's Leachlife on Geodude as it turned around to face him. Katie almost fell over on Geodude because Champ and Bulbasaur were play wrestleing behind her and accidentle bumped into her. "Geodude Rock Throw!" Geodude picked up a rock and hurled it toward Oddish. Oddish took a direct hit and was badly hurt. Oddish! Poison Powder, now!" Oddish sprayed it's Poison Powder at Geodude who became poisoned. "Geodude Tackle!" Geodude tackled Oddish, who fainted and than from the effects of the Poison fainted itself. Katie and Brock returned their Pokémon. "Bulbasaur go!" Bulbasaur squacked at Champ then ran out ready to fight. Katie was confident that she was going to win. "Go Onix!" Onix came out and roared a loud roar. Katie and Bulbasaur jumped back because of the size of Onix. Bulbasaur looked up at Katie with a scared look on it's face. "Bulbasaur?" It said "Yes Baulbasaur. Just try your best, anything's possible." Bulbasaur looked at Onix and gulped. "Bulbasaur! Leach Seed, now!" Bulbasaur shot a seed at Onix which planted itself on the Onix. "Onix Wrap!" Onix lunged at Bulbasaur and wrapped itself around poor Bulbasaur. The only thing that kept Bulbasaur from fainting was the leach seed, every time Onix squeezed harder leach seed would sap some of it's energy and transfer it to Bulbasaur. Katie knew she'd have to give up soon but wanted to hold on as long as possible. Champ stood there tense, watching as one of his friends was being squeezed. Champ began barking which distracted Onix and made it losen it's grip. "Bulbasaur! Vine Wip, now!" Bulbasaur now free, unleashed it's Vine Wip on Onix who dodged it. But the sudden movement caused the Leach Seed to suck even more health from Onix which caused it to faint. Katie couldn't believe it! She beat Brock. "I won!" "Yes, you won. Here's the Boulder badge." Brock handed Katie the Boulder Badge. "Normally I would've said you lost, because your Growlithe distracted my Onix, but my Onix would've fainted anyway." Katie returned Bulbasaur to it's Pokéball and walked to the door. "Katie, your missing someone." Michelle said pointing back at Champ who was staring at Brock. "Champ, come on." Champ took 1 last look at Brock and ran to Katie.

Chapter 4

Katie healed her Pokémon and headed toward Mt. Moon with Michelle and Champ at her sides and Pikachu on her shoulder. "Man there are a lot of trainers along this route." Michelle said looking ahead. "Yeah. But we've got to continue on." They headed along the trail and were stoped every few meters by a trainer who wanted to fight. After going through at least 8 trainers, Katie and Michelle came to 1 last guy. "So, which 1 of you is brave enough to fight my Pokémon. "How many do you have? Katie asked wondering if she should bother to challenge him. "I have a Flareon and have beaten this lot of wimps with it." "That's it?!" Katie asked in surprise. "Ok. I'll challenge " "I'll challenge you!" Michelle piped up. Katie looked at her in surprise. But decided if she wants to fight than she can fight. "Flareon, go get'em!" Flareon popped out of it's Pokéball "Flareon!" "Go Bubbles!" "Squirtle! Squirtle!" They stared at each other waiting for their commands. "Flareon tackle'em!" Flareon ran towards Bubbles, "Bubbles Water Gun!" Bubbles shot Water Gun at the chargeing Flareon, and knocked it back to the boy. "Flareon Fire Spin!" Bubbles got caught up in Flareon's Fire Spin but wasn't hurt to badly. "Bubbles Headbutt!" Bubbles Headbutted Flareon. Flareon tried and tried to get up. "Get up Flareon! Get up!" yelled the boy angrily. Flareon finally got up, but it turned around and attacked it's trainer with Fire Spin than fainted. The boys clothes were on fire! "Bubbles Water Gun!" Bubbles used it's Water Gun to put out the flames. The boy realized how mean he had been to Flareon. He used a Revive on Flareon and appolagised. "I'm sorry Flareon, I shouldn't have been so hard on you." Flareon smiled, happy to see the boy learning that yelling at a Pokémon won't do any good. "Squirtle! Squirtle!" Everyone looked toward Bubbles. "Bubbles is evolveing!" Michelle yelled out happily. "Squirtortle. Wartle. Wartortle!" Bubbles evolved from a Squirtle to a Wartortle! Michelle hugged Bubbles happily. They said bye to the boy and continued on towards Mt. Moon.

Chapter 5

"Look! Tall Grass! I'm going to catch a new Pokémon with Bubbles!" Michelle ran happily to the Tall Grass. Katie also wanted to catch some new Pokémon. It seemed Katie had better luck seeing Pokémon than poor Michelle. No matter how hard she looked, she couldn't find 1 Pokémon on her own. "Michelle, can I tell you how I find Pokémon?" Michelle looked at her glumly, "Might as well." Katie told Michelle her stratagy and Michelle gained some more hope. Michelle tried Katie's stratagy and saw a Spearow! Michelle pointed out the Spearow and than told Katie she was going to catch it. "Bubbles go!" Bubbles came out of it's Pokéball and approached the Spearow. "Bubbles Headbutt!" Bubbles Headbutted the Spearow which had failed to notice it until now. "Spearow!?" It said noticeing Bubbles. The Spearow fly into the air and prepared to attack Bubbles. "Bubbles Water Gun!" "Wartortle!" Bubbles knocked the Spearow out of the air. The Spearow now weakened tried to shake the water from it's feathers. "Pokéball go!" Michelle threw the Pokéball at Spearow. Spearow seeing the pokéball coming, tried to fly away but couldn't with the water in it's feathers. It was zapped inside the pokéball, it shook and shook than gave up. "Yes! I have Spearow!" Michelle was very happy. Champ loved all the excitement and romped around with Michelle. Meanwhile Katie walked deeper into the fields in search of more Pokémon. "What the?" Katie was stareing at what looked like a small, pinkish balloon. "What's a balloon doing out here?" The balloon turned around, it had a Face! Katie looked in her Pokédex "Jigglypuff, a small normal pokémon. It is rare but easy to spot in grassy areas. It's most affective attack is Sing which puts any Pokémon or humans in the imediate area to sleep rendering all attacks and deffences useless." "All right! I'm gonna catch it! Go Rattata!" "Rattata!" Jigglypuff looked at Rattata, "Jigglypuff?" "Rattata! Quick Attack, now!" Rattata quickly ran in and attacked Jigglypuff. "Jigglypuff!" Jigglypuff knowing it's freedom was in danger, began to sing. Katie became drowzee. "Rattata! Don't listen to it!" But it was to late, Rattata lay there asleep. "Rattata! Return!" "Go Oddish!" Oddish came out of it's pokéball, but lay there asleep! Katie tried Sandshrew, Bulbasaur and Hope but they were asleep too. "Oh no! All my Pokémon are asleep!" "Growlithe!" Champ ran up to Katie with Michelle following him. "Champ!" Katie yelled out happily. "Champ go!" Katie pointed toward Jigglypuff. Growlithe, still young didn't understand. "Champ, step forward and fight the Jigglypuff." Katie pointed to the Jigglypuff again. Champ nodded and stepped forward. "Champ! Flamethrower, now!" Champ looked back at Katie blankly. "Oh, great! You haven't learned Flamethrower yet. Champ! Ember, now!" Champ again looked at Katie blankly. "Ugg." The Jigglypuff began laughing at Champ. "Gggrrrr..." Champ growled at Jigglypuff. "Gggrrrrooowwwllliiittthhheee!!!" Champ roared as it bit down hard on the surprised Jigglypuff. Katie opened her Pokédex, "Bite. A move that all Growlithe's know from birth. The only other move they know from birth is Growl. At three months they learn Roar." The Jigglypuff stood there dazed and confuzed. "Pokéball go!" Katie threw a Pokéball at the Jigglypuff. It was quickly caught. "Yeah! I got Jigglypuff!"Katie held up Jigglypuff's Pokéball which than disapeared.

Chapter 6

"Look! It's the Mt. Moon Pokémon Center! That must be Mt. Moon!" Michelle said pointing to a Pokémon Center with a HUGE mountain behind it. "Whoa! It's Huge!" "Pika. Pika." Replied Pikachu looking up so high that it fell backwards off Katie's shoulder. "Let's stop in the Pokémon Center first. Maybe they have maps of Mt. Moon we could use." Katie and Michelle walked into the Pokémon Center. "May I help you?" said the Nurse Joy behind the counter. "Yes could you heal my pokémon, and do you have any maps of Mt. Moon we could use?" "Sure." Nurse Joy handed Katie a map and took Michelle and Katie's pokémon for healing. Katie and Michelle sat down at the table to look at the map. "Wow! Look at how many different pokémon are in Mt. Moon." Michelle said eagerly. Champ jumped up on Katie's lap. "What's that in your mouth?" Katie pulled a pokéball out of Champ's mouth. "Yuck! It's covered in Growlithe drool! Where did you get this?" Katie looked at Champ. Champ grabbed the pokéball and ran over to a guy in the corner of the Center and began barking at him. "Get lost you stupid animal!" Champ barked at the man angrily. "Excuse me ser, is this yours?" The man grabbed the pokéball and examined it. "Yeah! How did you get it you little theif!" Katie was about to protest when Champ picked another pokéball off the ground. "What the?!" the man looked at his pocket which had a hole in it. "Figures. So I see you didn't steal it. How would you like to buy 1? Only 500 dollars. A real steal, you'll never get a better price." "What is it?" Katie asked questioningly. "Why a Magikarp of course. They're pretty rare." Katie looked at the man angrily. "Magikarp are not rare. Where I live you can't go anywhere in the water without seeing at least 10 Magikarp." The man stared at her with his angry look back. "Go away. You bother me." Katie and Michelle got their pokémon and headed outside.
