September 21st, 2004 - Feeling Easy Breezy
October is going to be an important time for everyone. Nintendo of Japan will be holding a conference on the Nintendo DS on October 7th, 2004. Final pricing, launch games, and more will be revealed at the conference. Nintendo is currently running a commercial for the Nintendo DS in Japan that features Hikaru Utada. She is coifed in double ponytails and a conveniently cut red dress. She walks into an all white room with a Nintendo DS. She walks over to the DS and says something to the effect of "Touch this?" Then she picks up a stylus as a short clip from her song "Easy Breezy" starts up. Appropriately, the line from "Easy Breezy" is "I still remember the ways that you touch me." Then it shows a close up of the Nintendo DS and the words "Winter 2004" followed by a close up of the START button from the Nintendo DS. Modestly hot and "Japanesy" Hikaru Utada is releasing her first English album "Exodus" on October 5th in the United States. She did vocals in the theme song "Hikari" for Kingdom Hearts. Which was also a modestly hot and Japanesy game that spawned one sexy GBA game. I liked her songs "Eternally", "First Love" (In Japanese) and "Sakura Drops." Her favorite movies are Being John Malkovich, Brazil, Lost Highway, and a few more. She lists Tetris as one of her specialties. Nifty.

Nintendo of America released a bit of a shocker late on the 20th. Here you go!

Nintendo DS.
Launch Date: November 21st, 2004 (US)/December 2nd, 2004 (Japan)
Launch PRICE: $149.99
Built-In Software: Standard DS OS + PictoChat communication software.

The bad news is that it only supports single player GBA compatability. So, you can play Pokemon Leaf/Fire on it, but you can not trade with it. So, you definately should NOT get rid of your GBA SP. Clever of Nintendo to use the GBA as a little bit of a boost for the DS. Oh! I should probably use this time to pimp out some links!

Squishy Tales!
Another site I work with!
Mine is in the mail! I'll review it when it comes in. It will also work with the DS.
Nokia is working on an NGage Version 3. This is probably not it. Either way, NGage SUCKS.

September 16th, 2004 - It makes a sound like thunder.
Why are our September and October Issues combined? Why not just combine October & November? Because September and October will now be catch monthes. That said, there is a brand new Editorial in the Ice Block section of the site as well as a really cool, but somehow creepy cover for September/October. There will be some more updates later. I'll archive that pesky last month news and then give out a tasty helping of reviews after I finish catching them all. I mean, researching and reviewing. Later! Comment? -PAW-

August 31st, 2004 - September 2nd, 2004 - On an island in the sun.
Just felt like I should mention one of the newest features of the upcoming Leaf Green/Fire Red Pokemon games: An island chain. The games feature an island chain known as the Sevii Islands. The islands have special events on them as well as the ability to catch certain Johto Pokemon. The islands are as follows.

Birth Island (ONLY accessible with an Aurora Ticket - Capture Deoxys here!)
Boon ISland
Chrono Island
Floe Island
Fortune Island
Kin ISland
Knot Island
Navel Island (Only accessible with a Mystery Ticket - Capture Lugia/Ho oh here!)
Quest Island

Navel and Birth Islands are accessible by getting the tickets from scanning a special Pokemon E-Card. Nintendo passes out those cards. I suggest you track down an e-card reader! This is exactly like the Eon Tickets Nintendo handed out at E3 2003 and in Nintendo Power.

Oh, Fable for the XBox is apparently beatable in 9 hours. About 22 to 24 hours if you do all the side-quests in the game. That said, I have clocked more time than 9 hours into Mega Man & Bass. I know I've clocked more than 40 hours into Mario Golf Advance Tour. That says something about console games. Maybe they do not have as much GAME as they used to. I know I have clocked in somewhere around 100+ on Pokemon Ruby. That says something. Wonder what it is? Hint: Portable Gamers get more play for less cash. We are pimping.

We also pimp awesome for cheaper as the Game Boy Advance SP -as of Friday- will be ONLY $79.99 Go collect a few. There are four standard colors and a few special editions floating around: Collect them all! Nothing says pimping like a stack of GBA SPs.

Speaking of stacks, I have one over here with stuff I was finishing up just for you! But before we go to that: NOkia has announced that they have shipped 1 million N-Gage units. The key word is SHIPPED and that is the opposite of SOLD. Do not confuse the two terms. Now to get to the stack of stuff!
April's DMG Diva finally done.
S.A.R.S. review of The Passion of the Christ.
There shall be more later. For now, I run away! Oh, wait. Famitsu mentioned that a new Yoshi game is being made. Yoshi's Universal Gravitation is the translated name of this game. Will it use the tilting technology? Who knows. I do know one thing though! Zell Miller completely floored me. Best speech I have heard since Reggie at Nintendo's E3 press conference. Comment? -PAW
