of the Update: "Insert Non-Offensive Thing Here."
Hooray!
Just
so you know, I sent Vuefire the Apathic Red Virus, and Jerry the Shy Yellow
virus to save Akemi. The yellow and red aren't random. Anyways, they saved
her! Yippee! Now, you can stop sending Viral Speaks and E-Mails about it.
(Oh, my!) -PAW-
Adrock:
Don't worry, Vuefire and Jerry are tame. They don't make ice cream either.
Akemi:
VUEFIRE BIT ME! I think I have rabies..
Philip:
Naw.. Vuefire was tasteing you.. he always does that when he's planning
on... oh, no!
Important
stuff you need to know.
In
less than 10 days.. Dragon Warrior 1 & 2 will be out. I'm busy playing
Lil' Monster and Blaster Master: Enemy Below to review them and my early
impressions are that you should get either one of these. Lil' Monster is
pretty creative. (Honest!) Blaster Master: Enemy Below is a great game.
(Darn Sweet.) I fully reccommend you run out and get either of these titles.
Oh, IGN had some "little known facts" about the GBA. Let me explain those
in shorter paragraphs and more down to earth stuff.
1.
The Game Boy Advanced normally plays old GBC/DMG (Game Boy Color/ Game
Boy) games with a bordered screen. BUT, if you hold the L button as you
turn it on; it will play the old games full-screen. See the -somewhat out-dated-
GBA
concepts special for an excellent graphic example. If you don't
want to read that great article and set your mind spinning.. umm.. click
HERE
for a good example of what I'm talking about.
2.
The power light glows GREEN when your batteries are good; RED when you
need to change batteries. Got it? Green for GO, Red for STOP!
3.
With a complicated trick, you can play Game Boy Advanced games in Link
Play with only one copy of the game. This feature looks like it won't be
used much. Oh, well.
4.
The Game Boy Advanced will NOT turn on if you have no game in it. Can I
get an "AMEN!" from those people who've accidentally left their Game Boy
on without a cartridge before and discovered the batteries died. No more
worries about it turning on in your pocket.
5.Snowflake
updated as well!
6.
Reviews was put under for tommorrow because of technical difficulty.
7.
This awesome game
may end up getting pushed into October. Hey... what a better month to release
a game like Alone in the Dark. But, that's just speculation.
8.Viral
Speak owns Boardwalk and Park Place with two hotels. And, you lucky
person, you were on Shortline and rolled a four.
9.
The latest issue of Famitsu 64 stated that Sega's in-house team. or rather,
SONIC TEAM was working on a game for a third party device. Or in this case...
Nintendo and it's Game Boy Advanced. Take that as you will. It's base rumour
though.
Peace!
-PAW-
Adrock:
Another little known Game Boy Advance fact, is that it's much more powerful
than a Wonderswan Color. Someone please tell Square this!
Jazz:
Square hast sinnethed against the almighty Gameboy! REPENT! Only the sacred
2D rpgs will lead you to the light!
Akemi:
I don't know about buying handhelds named after waterfowl...
Philip:
Oh, I decided to help out.. I'm going to parade around with old articles.
Here's a good
one!
I wonder if Pikachu lights
the Menorah? What religion is that thing anyways? I mean, Pikachu doesn't
have the arms to cross himself. Pikachu also doesn't have the hair to be
a Hare Krishna. And I'm pretty sure Pikachu would fall asleep halfway through
Genesis. Maybe Pikachu is into Scientology? Naw.. that's not a religion
anywhere but the USA. Maybe Pikachu is into Sub-Genius. I mean, he literally
practices the Tao of Slack. *snickers*

Oh,
yeah! LOTS of new reader reviews. Dragon Dance, Asteroids, Warlocked, Super
Mario Bros. Deluxe, Blaster Master: Enemy Below, all good. Oh, a note to
Pikamom: I heard you're getting Great Greed soon! Great choice! That's
one of the best old style RPGs. I consider it one of the best things Namco
has put out. (And since they put out Pac-Man, Tekken, and Ridge Racer...
that's saying a lot.) Click on the dancing Cukeman to check it out! -PAW-

But not too hard.

Although, Cukeman likes rough clicks.

Sega
flips the Peter.
I
know this is a Game Boy site; but I would like to shout out to Sega, right
now. Of all the companies that start with S (SNK, Sony, and Square); Sega
is the best. This Wednesday, Peter Moore of Sega of America will appear
before Congress to say that video game makers do NOT intentionally market
violent games to children. Peter Moore is a brave person. I truly respect
him. Bernie Stolar would never do this. Neither would any one at Sony.
I think Peter Main probably wouldn't know what to say. But Peter Moore
will be in Washington tommorrow to defend YOU. I fully support him in his
mission. On a minor note; there was an.. article in Famitsu 64 that mentions
a recent rumor around Japan and Developers that Sonic Team is working
on a Game Boy Advanced game. Considering the splits in the team lately,
and the up-coming September 22nd announcements that are pending.. we shall
see.. we shall see. Cross your fingers and hope for the Fastest Thing Alive.
-PAW-
Jazz:
Oh please. Just give the hedgehog a gun.
Philip:
That would be cool.. "Eat LEAD, Eggman!" Sega is no stranger to violence
though.. the original Sonic the Hedgehog series was one of the most violent
cartoons of it's time. Right under Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the
time. One of the Top Five.
Props!
Poor
Jeff.. oh, a shout out to Star64's Matthew Durrant. I probably wouldn't
have opened it; but thankfully, I got your e-mail and I didn't open that
e-mail. So therefore; I think you should get a link right here.
-PAW-
Philip:
And for more behind the scenes bits.. Jeff.. I'm wrestleing with that thing..
expect it to go this Weekend. And say hello to Stephanie and Jim for me;
if you see them. And for the readers.. it isn't all fun and happy behind
the scenes. It's hard work. Especially since I've got to weed through nearly
hundreds of Viral Speak submissions a day and I don't use faceless CGI!
I love you people. You read dmgice.. even when we go through uneventful
times. You have no idea how awesome you people are and I'm glad you enjoy
the site. A little surprised; but glad. ^_^
Listen
up!
Are
you paying attention? Good. Tonight is a special update. The update is
combined with Wednesday's update. Why? Because. I felt like it! Actually,
I was working on the reviews and Viral Speak and ran late! So, you'll see
new reviews, Snowflake, and Viral Speak pop up on Wednesday.. anytime during
the day on Wednesday! Better keep checking back! Oh, I decided to make
something quite nifty! Look! A highlights drop box is below. Most everyone
should be able to see it. It is good. Anyways, I was working on this nifty
highlight box; so I'll get you the most awesome content at your fingertips.
I'll also switch stuff daily. For example. M2M.. we were one of the FIRST
news places to interview that great Musical Girl Duet. And I think you
should read that interview.. it's good! It's also in the box. Another awesome
bit is that it's updated every day so you don't miss out on it and stuff.
Write to Viral Speak if you think I should also highlight awesome Viral
Speak issues in the Highlight Box! -PAW-

Recap
it!
Today
was a phenomonal week. Amazing. Just.. amazing.
1.
We launched "DMG Ice: Mobile Edition". A way to take some of our content
with you on the go and a way to deliver exclusive content to owners of
portable AvantGo capable products. Click HERE
to view details on this new thing.
2.
Mark your calanders! November is going to be a month to buy. I mean, Donkey
Kong Country early on in that month; and Capcom's Offering. Capcom will
place it's offering to us on Novemr 30th. The offering consists of Mega
Man Xtreme, Dragon's Lair, and Metal Walker. That's an Action Game, an
RPG, and an FMV game. Dragon's Lair is the first and only game it's class
for the Game Boy Color. It will be quite interesting to see the FMV Laser
Disc Classic on the GBC.
3.
Like Reviews? Oh, I know you do! Check back later this weekend for some
tasty reviews, and *maybe* a sweet update to Area DMG.
4.Snowflake
updated! With a burst of color added to an old favorite. My applause
to Josh Nickerson, and HBomb.
5.
Want some news? Okay. I'll preach to the choir now. Members of the company
working with Pinobee for Game Boy Advanced are former members of Sonic
Team. At Sega's "Anti-ECTS" event on the 22nd; we may(or may not) see the
progress on Sonic Team's rumoured Game Boy Advanced Sonic game. And for
those longing for Square. Think for a moment. Remember Brownie Brown? That
ex-Square employee Nintendo second party development team? They aren't
the only members of Square teams that have defected to Nintendo. With Square's
current stock woes in Japan, a number of employees are rumoured to be defecting
soon. Not just to Brownie Brown, and *ouch* Enix. But also to Media Factory,
and Game Freak. Quite interesting.
6.
Philip tries to stay funny and stay out of ranting today in Viral Speak.
Will he prevail? Or will the Sock Monkey on his shoulder persuade him to
rant? Stay GOOD, Philip! Stay GOOD! But, alas he can't! Philip has a cold
and is too grumpy! So.. Viral Speak will also arrive later; when I'm feeling
better and not like a rabid wolverine. I would however like to apologize
to anyone who has been offended this week. Now I will go tend to my olympics..
umm.. cold.
7.
We also broke 800 reviews!
Just less than 200 away from 1,000. I would like to say that. Our readers
are the greatest readers ever. They're amazingly special. I was snooping
around the UBB the other day.. and well.. you people are incredible. I
mean it, really. How many times have some of you posted in there? I mean..
in the 1000! Pat yourselves on the back and get a cookie from the fridge.
And for all of you who debate with me in Viral Speak and give criticism
about the site. I admire you too. 800 reviews, thousands of posts. You're
darn cool. I mean.. wow. Look in the mirror, point to yourself and say
"I'm so cool. I'm Sofa King Cool!". Or rather.. don't do that around siblings
or parents.. might get in trouble.
And
that's it for now! Check back soon for more! -PAW-

called Sega and Nintendo: The Cosmo Cube (Dreamcast version) and Nintendo
and Sega: Dream Come True (GameCube version). The two games will feature
popular characters from their flagship characters, including Sonic, Nights,
Virtua Fighter Kids, and Virtual ON robots (super deformed), a brand new
character named Ages from the Sega side. The Nintendo side will include
Mario, Donkey Kong, Pokemons (Pikachu and friends), Zelda and an original
character named Odnetnin. The Dreamcast version is planned for a 2001 summer
release, and the GameCube version is planned for a winter 2001 release.

Bad
news?
Alone
in the Dark got pushed back to January 3rd, 2001. That's sad; but it's
okay. I mean, the first screenshots hit last month. There's already too
much going on this Fall/Winter to be arsed with buying another fantastic
Game Boy game! I mean, this Christmas alone will see Legend of Zelda: Acorn
of the Mysterious whatever, Donkey Kong Country (Rare's apology for Perfect
Dark GBC), Mega Man Xtreme, Metal walker, Pokemon 2, Kirby's Tilt N' Tumble,
Bust A Move, Dragon Warrior 1 & 2 (Which apparently ships this Thursday,
not Tuesday. Yippee!), Cannon Fodder, Dakitana Adventure (I liked it. 300%
better than the PC version), TOCA Grand Prix (Any racing game where you
can knock down orange cones and leave mud trails is cool.), and more. Let's
not forget what's already out too. If you don't have them already, Monster
Rancher Battle Card, Lil' Monster, Blaster Master: Enemy Below, and Wacky
Races are very good. Think of it this way, the extra time will be used
to make it better. Did I also mention that early 2001 is going to be sweet?
Lufia: Ruins Chaser, Alone in the Dark, Star Ocean: Blue Sphere (Amen!),
we may even see Card Hero announced for the USA. And when Game Boy Advanced
hits, you'll still see excellent Game Boy Color titles released. I mean,
seriously, the list of awesome games that need to come out before the GBC
is done include Dragon Warrior 3, the second Legend of Zelda game thingy,
Mythri better come out (You signed that petition yet? I want to be able
to buy that game in stores and give a review.), Survival Kids 2, Crusaders
of Might and Magic, and more. Peace! -PAW-

Pokemon Gun Safety.
(A story for the Children!)
By Philip Wesley 2000
(Picture novel coming soon!)
It was a happy day in Pokemonland.
Then Pikachu found a gun laying around. Pikachu did not know that the gun
was not a toy. Pikachu accidentally shot Togepi. Togepi bled and bled.
The grass in Pokemonland got so dirty! Pikachu was sad. Ash was sad. Prof.
Oak was sad. Misty was sad. Tracey was arroused*. Brock was sad; but got
to meet a cute mortician. Togepi was saddest of all; because Togepi went
to Hell. The moral is do not leave guns laying around in Pokemonland or
in your own home for that matter. The more you know...
