November 2002 It's Newsity. It flows.
Bandai announced the first
Game Boy game they've developed since trying to compete with the system with
their Wonderswan system. So, it means we get a Digimon game. You know that
I'm really excited about it. *yawns* Oh, I beat Metroid Fusion for the first
time the other day with a time of 3:36 and 40% of the items. I'll be going
through it a second time to improve my time. As for news? Well, Nintendo
of America's website updated with information on the GGP
. There's a lot of clamor in Japan about Enix possibly buying Square. Ummm...
*blinks* I'll just let that one rest on it's own. That would be like Konami
buying Capcom, although this has been a weird year for gamers. Next
week, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland
both hit retailers. May I suggest that you just buy them both and be happy.

GGP? Yeah, you know me!
Also known around Redmond as "Up yours,
Pocket Monopoly". The newly announced device for the GameCube is a source
of lots of speculation and such. It attaches to the bottom of the system
and does things. However, after reading through the Press Releases and such,
here's a breakdown on it.
1. It plays all GB, GBC, GBA software.
2. You can use a Game Cube Controller or a GBA to control the games.
3. You can daisychain Game Cubes for four player controller play or plug in four GBAs for four player GBA play.
4. It does not work with the Panasonic Q Game Cube variation.
5. It is compatible with the Game Cube High Defination LCD screens shown at E3 and when those are released next year.....
6. It requires a CD boot that -as far as anyone knows- is not all region.
The software will also supposedly fix some graphic errors.
7. It comes in four colors. Spice, Platinum, Purple, and Black.
8. It comes out in March in Japan, and May in the USA. Japanese price translates
roughly to about $45 US dollars, or $8,634,921.98 Canadian. (Okay, so it's
actually not that much in Canada; but I couldn't resist.)
What else could it be used for? IGN made a guess at special blank cartridges
for downloadable network play. This fits with my idea that the next Game
Boy will use cartridges as memory cards instead of actual game media. In
fact, I think Nintendo's next system will be more of an upgrade to the Game
Cube and GBA instead of a whole new ballgame. Most likely the new handheld
and new Cube would use most of the same devices; but offer the ability to
read the newest Mini-DVD type that is capable of storing more 8 times the
information of a DVD-9 along with substantial chipset power increases. Thus
insuring backwards compatability with Cube and older GB titles. But I digress.
I'm rather excited by this software as it means one big thing for the Game
Cube. Are you following this? This melding makes the Game Cube the ultimate
game machine as every previous Nintendo console is now playable on it in
one form or another.
Want to play an NES game? Scan in an E-Card or pop in the Game Boy Color
Pak that it was ported to. Want to play a Game and Watch Gallery game? Same
deal. How about a Super Nintendo game? Pop in a GBA game. Almost every generation
of Nintendo systems is represented here in some form. Of course, no Virtual
Boy or N64 games/ports yet; but.. we'll see. Maybe we'll get Ocarina of Time/URA
Zelda for the GCube here? Um, anyhow.. it comes out in May, so I'll get one
of course. -PAW/11/20/2002-
Why the SongPro Sing?
Because it's still alive and shipping to Toys R' Us stores and other select retailers soon! See www.songpro.com
for the details on this sweet little MP3 player that could! -PAW/11/20/2002-
Metroid in stores.
Well, duh. -PAW/11/19/2002-
Okay.. again.
Offical DMG Ice/Game Boy Mafia PSO
Ship.. moved. What ship now? Well, let's try Vega, any of the last three
blocks, passworded or free game named dmgice.com If I am in there, I'll either
be a human female ranger named Amy Red who is currently Level 31. Anyways,
you'll know me by my shortcut buttons with her. Password will be pretty easy
to figure out. (See below) and my other characters are an android female
ranger named Dorothy, inspired by the Dorothy from The Big O. So, she's
easy to spot. The last is the android female hunter named Asesino 56K. So,
see you there I guess. :-) -PAW/11/18/2002-
Official DMG Ice/Game Boy Mafia PSO Ship!
Which ship? Deneb. (Quack!) Which
section? The last one. What will the game name most likely be? dmgice.com
of course! When will these be? Often, so please do check for it! What's the
password? There are only three words that are important to DMG Ice as a whole.
"Foy", "Plymouth", and for those who kick it oldschool... "Mercury". One
of those is it. Currently my character is Amy Red, and she is a Level 21
Ramarl as I write this. I look forward to seeing you on Ragol! Even naked Rag Rappies like us! Other Mafia Members and Game Boy Alliance Members should announce their rooms/ships soon. I hope you get to play with them too!-PAW/11/13/2002-
A boy and his life-sucking parasite.
And the woman they both wanna munch
on! It's Metroid Fusion! It's amazing! I was playing it today in Wal-Mart
with headphones on. Don't worry! All the proper sound effects are there and
well.. it's awesome! I'm up to Sector 4 and have already run into several..
interesting things and I have the Hi-Jump Boots, Bombs, Spring Ball, Missiles,
Space Ball, and a few energy tanks already. It's more trigger happy that
the previous games; but it's okay. You won't find yourself lost like in Metroid
1 & 2, or just breezing ala Super Metroid. The enemies are EVERYWHERE.
Oh, Samus seems more predator-like in this one. Literally consuming the souls
of those she kills, for energy. A little frightening when you think about
it. I won't spoil anything. Just writing this as there is a tiny lack of
news. Other than this item and well.. the one below it. -PAW/11/05/2002-
Merebian Cherry Repair!
Luna got delayed! Get it? Umm.. if you don't get it.. that's okay. Lunar
Legends -because it IS a Lunar game after all- has been pushed to an early
December release. Just in case you all were wondering. -PAW/11/05/2002-

November 2002
Here, we show respect.
Virtual Boy is considered by
many to be a failure, Nintendo of America tries to forget it existed. Nintendo
of Japan, however, thinks of it as something very good that didn't sell too
well. Even though it sold way better in Japan than here. Anyhow, it's also
considered part of the Game Boy family in Japan. So, after much debate and
debacle.. Virtual Boy is moving back in with it's family in our main reviews
section. The "other systems" section the reviews used to have will be re-released
this December. Virtual Boy will not be staying with that section; but instead
shall be accepted into it's true family.. with our beloved Game Boy and it's
incarnations. Now to debate over whether the Game Cube isn't some sort of
mutant Game Boy offspring as well. But enough on that! The first E-Card review
on this site is up and it's part of four "new" reviews
tonight! Enjoy! There's more to come... -PAW/11/27/2002-
Be here for American Thanksgiving!
Why? Because I have that day
off and while I may sleep in.. instead.. I'll be up here uploading reviews
for that day instead. Why? Because I gots a lots o' reviews to upload still
and I figure it would be a great day to also unveil what happened to our
other system reviews. Go on and be there.. -PAW/11/25/2002-
One more for the Library.. just read below and click it.
-PAW/11/21/2002-
Chock one up for the Library.

parents. Ya got it
? -PAW/11/19/2002
Libraryily speaking.
The Library
had small update. Go see! -PAW/11/18/2002-
One for the money.
Well, no money involved just that Philip was tired, so he only added one more review to Suki Nihon.
-PAW/11/14/2002-
Seducing the Innocent!
Yes, be enticed and enchanted by THREE new Suki Nihon reviews
! Lust with a passion that burns hot as you feel your reading muscles race while reading the three new reviews. Be.. amazed. -PAW/11/13/2002-
Not really news of any sort.
Just thinking about games and
stuff and then I saw an ad for "The Truth". You know, those anti-smoking
ads? Oddly enough, those are paid for by cigarette companies. Want to know
why? Because kids go through a phase where they want what people say is bad
for them. So, the more preachy the "Truth" commercials are.. the more you're
inclined to smoke later on in life if you see them enough. Clever. -PAW/11/12/2002-
1030 and do you know?
Well, we reached 1,030 reviews in the Reviews
section tonight as I put up two more Reader Reviews. Great milestone! Only
20 away from 1,050. Which I will reach before Christmas! Peace! -PAW/11/12/2002-
Area DMG and The Library.
Both are going to recieve some
large updates either today or by the end of this week. Please look forward
to them. I'll also release reviews at regular intervals now that I have a
nice backlog of them. Anyhow, I'm putting out a call for E-Card reviews.
Not just the unit but the individual games. E-Card games will be listed with
regular games, the only modification to the template would be that you need
to state how many cards need to be swiped to play the game. Since the
names of E-Card games all end with -e it's not a problem. So, it's okay for
Donkey Kong 1994 to be listed with Donkey Kong-E. Or would you rather it
be E-Donkey Kong. Effectively putting them in the E section of the reviews.
For Pokemon and Animal Crossing cards? Only if swiping the card gives you
a game playable on the GBA may it be reviewed. For those, put E- or -E on
the name of the mini-game. Oh, I updated the Newsity archives. -PAW/11/05/2002-
Quote of the Day (11/5/2002)
"It's not fandom. It's GAME LUST."
Items that need to be categorized.
The Catch 'Em Game!
The Catch
'Em game below.. have you played it yet? You can come by
daily and click it to see what Pokémon you caught for the
day.. or you can write down the one's you've caught so
far in an attempt to "Catch 'em all!" Why not try
it once a day to see what Pokémon is yours today? |

 Anything
else is
probably not DMG
Ice. |
