Shantae: The Soundtrack. (Game Boy news. = June/14/2002)
Music to rubs Shantae's bottle to. If you want to take a break from knocking
Risky Boots into the stratosphere, get your jiggly, half-genie rump to this page
for the beats that bring the SHA to the Zaaam! Why? Because Virt owns you. Wayforward Technologies owns you. Shantae owns you. COnsider yourself owned. -PAW-
Robopon 2: More than meets the eye.(Game News = June/13/2002)
Atlus has shipped their sequel to Robopon. Aptly titled "Robopon 2", this
GBA incarnation features two different versions with different robopon allotments
and new robopon. Well, of course. Robopon is, essentially, Pokemon with robots.
Why should you care? The translation is done by a member of Team XKalibur.
Who are they? Remember Mythri? Well, this means that Robopon, despite having
improved play, graphics, etc... now has one slick translation with a distinctive
style that I am sure you will enjoy. It may not be Mythri; but at least it
has a sense of humour similar to it.. sort of. well, I'm just saying to pick
it up when you go to pick up Shantae and Tactics Ogre. -PAW-
Pure Newsity!(Site News = June/13/2002)

the button above for additional features, such as the forum, library, etc. -PAW-
Shantae Wiggles(Game Pre-Review Impression = June/13/2002)
I picked up Shantae today at my local Babbages and have proceeded to begin
play of it. I hope to have a review of this and Tactics Ogre for the site
on Friday, when I will also put up several other reviews. What do I think
of Shantae so far? This game is in the same vein as Super Metroid or Legend
of Zelda 2 in a way. The game starts when Shantae sees a pirate ship attacking
the town where she lives. She then goes off to drive off the pirates. The
gameplay consists of Shantae exploring large side-scrolling areas in search
of items or to find and defeat a boss. She also visits towns, which are rotoscope
3-D style and are pretty damn nice. Yes, it has transparencies, parrallax
scrolling, etc. The graphics are extremely well done. This girl is literally
screaming for a GBA sequel. I would definately buy a GBA version, especially
if Shantae gets even more frames of animation. The music is good GBC fare
and so far, I haven't run into any rather stand out tracks. However, I'm
not too far into the game. However, this is a great game. Is it worth 100%?
Well.. we will see... however right now, it is quickly becoming a better
game than many of Nintendo's own projects. Beats Wario Land 4 flat. It also
contains the best thing since the Sega voice: The Wayforward Walk.
In all the best Wayforward Technologies games, the main character walks
across the screen when the Wayforward logo shows up. That means it's gonna
be a damn good game. Wayforward has yet to disappoint me. I hope they never
do. These people are like TREASURE on Game Boy. -PAW-
This game is a Stitch.(Game Pre-Review Impression = June/13/2002)
Lilo & Stitch is what I refered to as a "Furry Blue Contra" in my E3
impression, now that I have played through, beaten, and set down to do impressions
and soon a review.. I can say it's more like Metal Slug. Buy this game if
you really would like a tough game and can't find Shantae. This one has a
tad high difficulty at first; because it plays more like Metal Slug in Stitch's
stages. Stitch looks bad-ass wielding four guns at once and laying waste
to the droves of enemies. Lilo sneaks around in levels that, while short,
are more fun than the entirety of an Oddworld game. They play a bit like
Out of the World with a Metal Gear sneaking aspect to them. There are also
a few, fast paced shooting levels that are similar to Gyruss and Tempest.
The thing that makes this game awesome is the bosses. The first boss is a
waste; but the Slime Monster battle is all over the place, literally, it's
like fighting a major boss in Mischief Makers. The last boss, Dr. Pestus
is the best giant boss fight I have played in a while. It has this move,
where it charges forward and then falls back spraying bombs from it's shoulders..
and that's so freaking impressive. Overall, the game has a Sega Genesis feel
to it. Disney fans should definately pick this up. Even if it's almost as
hard as Ghosts and Goblins. It's more Metal Slug than both NGPC Metal Slug
games. So, SNK fans should make a note to pick this one up. -PAW-
GBA is SIXy. (GBA News = June/13/2002)
According to Nintendo, the Game Boy Advance has sold over six million units
in less than a year. In perspective, that means that about six million people
out there have no excuse not to go and buy Super Mario World. -PAW-
I like Hamtaro.(etc = June/13/2002)
Just thought you all should know. Can't wait for the GBC game, which should be very interesting. -PAW-
