Click here to jump to Viral Speak! - Click here to ARGUE about the news! - Click here to jump down to the Archives! July 13th, 2004 - Much Newsity! Well, not really. Well, here's the latest news! First off: Announcements! Nintendo announced that they will be releaseing Pokemon Emerald - a upgrade of Ruby & Sapphire that contains elements from both plots and new options- this September in Japan. Details are sketchy on it currently. The next big announcement is that Gaurdian Heroes Advance is coming to the USA from UBISoft. The game is developed by the legendary company: Treasure. Treasure created the awesome Ikaruga, and Mischief Makers. Gaurdian Heroes Advance is a sequel to a Sega Saturn game of the same name. Neat. And secondly, there's not too much going on. But hopefully that will change soon! Comment? -PAW- July 7th, 2004 - NESing around. Well, happy Fourth of July, Canada Day, and other such days. We're back on the case and there is a new cover art. Also, a few bits of NEWSITY! SquareEnix delayed Final Fantasy 1 & 2 in Japan until July 29th, 2004 to fix a bug they found. We'll probably see FF 1 & 2 later this year or early next year. Also, rumored and propogated by The Magic Box, Nintendo is intending to release another series of Famicom games in Japan on August 10th, 2004. This set focuses in on Famicom Disc games. Here is the list with a few notes on each title. Famicom Mini Vol. 21 Super Mario Bros. 2 - This is The Lost Levels title, not our SMB 2. Our SMB 2 is called Super Mario Bros. USA in Japan and is also available in another form as Doki Doki Panic in Japan. Famicom Mini Vol. 22 Nazo no Murasame "Riddle of Murasame Castle" - Action title with a samurai and it looks similar to the Legend of Zelda series in game play. Famicom Mini Vol. 23 Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - Considered the HARDEST Legend of Zelda game ever, some people hated this game. The game combined side-scrolling action with Classic Legend of Zelda action. It was tough. Famicom Mini Vol. 24 Metroid - Gee, I wish I could play this one in the USA. *turns on Metroid Zero Mission. Oh! There we go! Famicom Mini Vol. 25 Kid Icarus - Right now, a lot of people who remember this game being better than it actually is are clicking their Lik Sang bookmarks as we speak. Famicom Mini Vol. 26 Shin Onigashima - Legend of Demon Island. It's a Book on Game Pak. Cute. Famicom Mini Vol. 27 Famicom Tantei Kurabu: Kieta Koukeisha - Nintendo's Detective Club series. You remember that character trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee? This is the game she is from. It's more like a choose your own adventure series though. Famicom Mini Vol. 28 Famicom Tantei Kurabu II: Ushiro ni Tatsu Shoujo - Part 2 of the game series mentioned above. Famicom Mini Vol. 29 Castlevania - Apparently the Castlevania/Contra compilation that was at Konami's booth in 2002 will never arrive. Shameful; but this would be almost as good. Oh, the first Castlevania game is inappropriately cheap and nasty. Fear the bats! Famicom Mini Vol. 30 SD Gundam World: Gachapon Senshi Scramble Wars - Super Deformed old Gundams fighting? Sweet Char I am so there!) All of these games were released on the Famicom DISC system and will have appropriate packaging for thus. Will we see these ones in the USA? Considering that we have not even seen announcements for the next wave of games in the USA, I would say: "Probably not this year, sadly. However, do expect the next wave of NES Classic titles in the USA to incorporate a few of these games into it. Most likely, the next series for the USA will look like this. 1. Legend of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link 2. Kid Icarus 3. Dig Dug 4. Castlevania 5. Metroid 6. Balloon Fight 7. Mario Brothers 8. Adventure Island 9. Ghosts 'n' Goblins 10. Dr. Mario That would be speculation on my part; but do expect a dramatic price drop on the previously released NES Classic games as stores begin trying to move them out late in August. I was hoping the next wave would hit in September; but it appears that it will hit shelves closer to December. Placing the titles as perfectly buyable fodder for the other GBA compatible portable out there: The Nintendo DS. What a doozy of a way to start the month! Comment? -PAW- | ![]() ![]() |
