INFECTIFY!
Well, here you go people. I finally got up off my most-sexy derrier and did bestow upon the people NEW REVIEWS. Well, four new reviews for Suki Nihon. (Everything in moderation, baby!) I also launched SARS. Click on the happy little SARS button to your right or on this link. Yes, I launched it with 17 reviews. Since it is the reincarnation of The Bin, it felt needed to completely transfer over one of the old sections from The Bin. So, I got that up and then proceeded to finish up a brand new review for a brand new section of SARS. The rest of the old reviews for SARS will be up soon along with a healthy batch of new ones. With 17 SARS reviews and 4 Suki Nihon reviews, that's about 21 reviews. Nice. Comment? -PAW-

A load of DS.
Nintendo announced a new portable system. Here's what we know so far about Nintendo's new system.
Name: Nintendo Dual Screen (Nintendo DS)
Screen Size: Two 3-inch widescreens similar to the GBA's screen. (Hence, DUAL SCREEN.)
Processors: 2 unspecified ability.
Semiconductor Memory: Up to one Gigabit
WTF Factor: High
Nintendo touted the idea of checking maps in one screen while moving in another. As usual, Nintendo doesn't EXPLAIN things properly. Here's the jist of it. The Nintendo DS is based on the idea of the old Game & Watch Dual Screen games at it's very core. However, the actual play may be similar to playing a Game Cube game that has Game Boy Advance screen watching. A good example is Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, where all your information is on the GBA Screen. So, you play in one screen and monitor your health in the other screen. This leads me to believe that the DS will have an SP style design. In a racing game, all your information is in the bottom screen and all your gameplay is in the top screen.Ditto with action games and FPS games. Some games, may have parts where you enter a house on the top screen and the inside of the house is displayed on the bottom screen. I think that we will just have to see what Nintendo does. Metroid Zeroish!
Hey, S.A.R.S. has been delayed by real sickness. But don't worry. There are still about eleven more days for me to get it done in! A quick peek at Nintendo's listing for the Metroid Zero Mission Player's Guide reveals a bit more about the game. Apparently, you can link it up to Metroid Fusion for unspecified reasons. You can also unlock the original NES version of Metroid presumeably by beating the game. There is also a Sound Test and a "Harder" mode rumored to be hidden in the game. Expect to catch S.A.R.S. this Friday. Tonight, just some news. Tommorrow, a Viral Speak and some reviews. I ain't dead! Comment? -PAW-

Philip isn't healthy either. :-P
Hey, feeling tired and putting in long hours. However,  I also missed sending in an At Freak Show to Hbomb and I haven't been online terribly much. Because of this, S.A.R.S. will debut on Monday with some added value content and I will send Hbomb an extra At or few so he can show more than one. Sorry about that everyone! I will do a Viral Speak for this Saturday though. Please look forward to it. Yes, I am aware of the new Famicom Collection games that Nintendo is putting out in Japan at low prices. The games are Super Mario Brothers, Donkey Kong, Ice Climbers, Excite Bike, Legend of Zelda, Pacman, Xevious, Mappy Land, Bomberman and Star Soldier . Donkey Kong, Excite Bike, and Ice Climbers are available as e-Reader cards here in the US. Now, these are straight ports of the old NES games at value prices. If Nintendo does opt to bring them over here, it will be at reduced $14 or $10 prices. I actually expect Nintendo to bring them here for the original Nintendo Entertainment System anniversary that is coming up. So, expect to see them this Summer, if not sooner. That Legend of Zelda one has me drooling. I have versions of many of  the other games and -truth be told- the first Bomberman isn't that good. Anyhow. Later. I go sleep now. I have over 1,000 e-mail messages to sort through.. Comment? -PAW-

Craig Harris isn't healthy.
Did you see that IGN Update? Three weeks without a GBA? He's not worthy of scoffing at! Three days would be way to long for a true believer! Ah, well. The Library has new content! I added an Oddish Collection for you to be surprised at. Go to it! I also did -as promised- on Monday: A NEW DMG DIVA featureing our cover girl Samus Aran! Click here to see it! See! We give you new content and we DON'T get all grumpy about it! Next up? A new Viral Speak and some reviews! Stay heal-thy! And before I forget, Sega is releasing a remake of the first Shining Force in Europe. It has a five language option including English. So, prepare to either import it; or wait for it to be announced for over here. Ah, Hell. Import the damn thing.  Comment? -PAW-

Nintendo's Units.
Well, before I get into this, I want to mention to people that there are currently about seven PoSP titles being developed. Most of those titles will be at launch. That is confirmed. Capcom has stated that they are working on titles for the Sony POS Portable. The President of Capcom, Kenzo Tsujimoto, has stated that PoSP development is "arduous." Arduous means "difficult" or "hard." Capcom stated the same thing about the N64 a long time ago and the N64 got decimated in sales by the (easier to program for) Play Station One. There you go. Anyways, here is what this article is really about. There was a report in Japan that listed the top companies based on how many software units they sold. Here you go.

1. Nintendo - 6,399,400 units
2. Square Enix - 5,659,000 units.
3. Konami - 4,874,000 units.
4. Bandai - 3,640,400 units.
5. Capcom - 3,000,000 units.
6. Namco - 2,840,100 units.
7. Sony - 2,638,500 units.
8. Pokemon Co. - 2,415,300 units
9. Koei - 2,386,200 units.
10. Sega - 2,344,500 units.

I find it kind of odd that the Pokemon Company is listed as a seperate entity. Last year (2002) was ruled by Konami. However, this year Nintendo and Square Enix both sandbagged Konami. I love Konami; but the Square Enix combination is -well- SEXIER. If you combined what the Pokemon Company and Nintendo sold, that brings the whole of "Nintendo" to about 8,814,700 Units in Japan. Note that the list is ONLY for Japan. You know, if Square Enix decides not to support the PoSP, that would kill it from the get go. We've already seen Capcom say that development for the PoSP is hard... if they decided to drop the fledgling handheld, that would convince Square Enix to not develop for the PoSP. If Square Enix decided to say no, everyone else would drop the PoSP like a sack of pure, unadulterated mad cow poo. Interesting. Viral Speak coming tommorrow and our cover girl's DMG Diva interview is coming on Monday. SARS Launches that Friday. (Or over the weekend. Bwa ha ha ha ha!)

Getting Bomby wit' it.
Well, here are Hbomb's picks for 2003. His Goldthingies Award List! But before that, an explanation for those who came in through Splash Page. Check that out. It's a new one. I will do one for each month. Let me explain what some of it MEANS. Samus Aran is our cover girl; so I hope to put up her almost completed BRAND NEW DMG DIVA interview on the site library soon for you to read. S.A.R.S. is what happened to "The Bargain Bin" or "The Bin" as we used to call it before September 11th made that UNFUNNY. Strangely Affectious Review Section is what is stands for. This section will contain reviews for OTHER video game systems that are NOT Game Boy. (Yes, Virgina. Those DO exist!) It will also contain reviews for Live Action movies. So, if you've been jonesing to review Citizen Kane or Glitter; now you CAN. Look for it before the end of the month. Next Months cover DMG Diva is currently being umm.. considered. Look forward to it! I hope to get M3thr33 and Adrock's picks soon. Oh, have you peeped Adam's section of the site? I shouldn't be hiding it from you. Look and be good.

Hbomb's 2003 Goldthingiesbombies Award List
1. Nintendo's Coolest Idea: E-reader support in SMB3. Runners up, Zelda Bonus Discs
2. Reason to get a Gameboy Player: Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. It looks awesome on the big screen, and it makes using the e-reader easier.
3. Best Game that I still Don't Have: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. I know. Maybe soon.
4. Outstanding Snowflake contributiors: Tim "Rainy Day Man" Hamilton and Dave "Psycho Fire" Kaine, for rarely missing deadlines and always managing to get me quality comics.
5. Laziest Philip Award: Philip Andrew Wesley. Need I say more?
6. 2002 Game that I'm still Playing: Animal Crossing.
7. 2001 Game that I'm still playing: Super Smash Bros. Melee. Yes, I know I've gotta get some new games, but this one's just classic.
8. Game they need to make: GBA ports of Dragon Warrior 4-6. Especially since 5 and 6 didn't come out here.
9. Best New Snowflake Comic: Mid-Shift. You better buy the book whenever Josh finishes it.
Honorable Mention: Forgotten Theory
10. Best Snowflake Family Comics: Hatman (Yellow Snow), Squishy Tales (DMG Blizzard), and Mid-Shift (Snowflake Studios)

GOLDTHINGIES 2003!
Need I say more? Anyhow, we used to let people vote on these and such, back in the day. However, since I know that there are only three people who read this site, I figure I should not waste your time by making all three of them vote. However, here are my picks for the best of 2003. I'll give you ten categories and we will hear from a bit of the staff when they send me lists. I'm just going to make up my ten categories and so will they. Anyhow, here's my list!

Philip's 2003 Goldthingies Award List!
1. Best Use of a Nose: Wario Ware. Leave it to Wario to make picking your nose fun and functional again!
2. Sexiest Rabbit Girl: Shara from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. If my world suddenly became Ivalice, I would like to test that old "like rabbits" analogy.
3. Most Abusive Love Affair: Mega Man Zero 2. I love Mega Man games; but they do not love me or you.  Zero's games are no exception, as they have a tendancy to physically abuse you until you realize that your love is one sided. That's saying something about the difficulty of Zero's games.
4. Best Reason to get a Paper Cut: The add-on E-Cards for Super Mario Bros. 3 and Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. You mean I can use the cape in Super Mario Bros. 3 and play classic Mario levels from the first game; but with the third games items? Yes please!
5. Whiniest Girly Man: Mewt from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Wah wah, so your mother died, your dad is a bum, and people make fun of you. BOO HOO. Now go cut your hair.
6. Most TASTIEST Souls: Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. Yeah, it came out this last year. Everyone else forgot about it. Well, they SUCK.
7. Best Performance by that Other Mario Brother: You know, the one in green. Yeah. Him. He was, like, in Mario & Luigi. It was noteworthy.
8. Hardest to find game at Christmas Time: Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town. It was sold out EVERYWHERE. Damn it.
9. Most Rabite Slaughter: Sword of Mana had bunny Rabite murder galore! It also had an extremely feminine Hero. Ah, well. The music rocked though.
10. Game that should have been out this year, damn it: Mythri. Another year, no Mythri. DAMN IT.
