may put up more later on this weekend.. enjoy! -PAW-
Gimme Sunshine!
Golden Sun and Klonoa, Namco's
son are the subject of THREE brand
new reader reviews! Thanks and props goes out to all my buddies
on AIM, who helped choose which three reviews went up tonight. Check the
reviews out! Also.. Suki Nihon
updated with a few minor fixes, and a new review of the Trigun Box Set!
Oh, yeah! -PAW-
Those Magic Changes!
Happy New Year! Welcome
to DMG Ice's 2002 run! Here's a preview of the things to come! Anyhow,
seeing as it's nigh and hard to get some news.. here's what I have for
you today!
The 2002 GoldThingies
- They are scheduled for around next week. Gotta compile and dig through
the piles of great games worthy of awards.
Suki
Nihon - It updated a little bit ago and it'll update more soon.
Gotta finish some more stuff on it and I have a backlog of reviews for
it.
Sixth
Circle Mp3 - Actually updated with a weird little discovery. Once
you check out the file.. you should also note that different games have
different sleep mode noises... DUN DUN DUN!
Speaking of Reviews! You
know.. the Bargain Bin?
It has been decided by a council of elders that the PSOne and the Game
Cube are.. "portable enough". O_o So, if anyone wants to send Cube or PSOne
reviews to the Bin.. well.. no objections. DMG Ice will also go through
a facelift. About time I updated the look of the site. So, expect the refurbishment
sometime this month. ^_^ Night people! -PAW-

Quick two
new reviews for Suki Nihon! Is Cowboy Bebop Perfect Sessions really
perfect? Does the Yuna compel you? Find out! Also, Disney hath put for
a trailer/site
for their latest movie that is coming this June.. "Lilo and Stitch" is
online! More later. -PAW-
College lessons!
Well, first classes of 2002
were yesterday. leaving me tired.. :-/ Friday update will be better. Taking
Art Appreciation. (HAHAHA) and Micro Apps. Peace people! -PAW-
Sorry!!!!!
Well, College is starting
up again and that has been the one major factor in the long quality of
updates lately. However,
there's a Viral Speak over HERE if anyone wants it.
As for news. Minoru Arakawa retired after running Nintendo of America for
more about 22 years. He is being replaced by a guy with a funny name who
worked with Pokémon stuff. Peter Main is also retiring in February
to be replaced by the guy in charge of Nintendo of Canada. Hiroshi Yamauchi
said that he will be retiring either when the sun explodes, or they perfect
his Mini-Yamauchi project and create an army of Horoshi Yamauchi's that
are only one-third his size to take over Japan where he will be EMPEROR!
On a somber note, Dave Thomas, the Wendy's guy, died of Liver Cancer and
even though I work part-time at a McDonalds.. I'll miss Dave. Oh, a Samurai
Jack game is coming to GBA and I can only say this. "Not even dogs should
be made to work like dogs." -PAW-

The new look I've been working
on is made for computers with resolutions higher than 800x600. But I assure
you will load up extremely quick just like this one does. What resolution
is your computer?

Ever wonder why the legendary
pokémon don't go extinct? I mean, they have no mates or ways to
pass on their genes, so it would make sense for them to go extinct from

I update when I update!
Not to worry though.. soon
the plan will be complete and all the world will be enslaved! Oh! Video
Girl Ai review in Suki Nihon! YAY! More reviewisty goodness maybe
later. Oh, speaking of animated films.. Mega Man Battle Network is getting
an anime in Japan. ph33r. Also, Konami is making a fighting game with the
word Rave in the title. (Fictional joke part coming up.) From what I heard,
it's based in New York and contains candy ravers beating up wannabe goth
ravers in a drug induced free for all. PLUR-O-KEN! Wham! BAM! Also, IGN
put up some pedophiliac preview for Mary Kate and Ashley's new game that
doesn't contain spub. I suppose you could go read that instead of reading
the one new review from the countlessly vast archives of back-logged reviews
I have yet to put up in both Suki Nihon and the normal Reviews section.
But I know you'll read both because you can't resist reviews. The Power
of Foy compels you. Somewhere, the evil curses us as it clings to it's
chest in agony at the droplets of good in that review. -PAW-
An update of pure anger!!
Well, I read the review
of Love Hina V.1 at DVD.IGN.com and I have to say something. While it's
okay for a review to be a little short, and it's okay to not like something.
It's not okay to step into the boundaries of essentially telling your reader
base to "f" off. The entire review fails to realize that love Hina is based
on a manga that pokes fun at those same cliches the reviewer cites. Apparently,
the reviewer doesn't know what he/she is talking about and has only seen
those four episodes. If you know the Manga and the plot for the upcoming
"Love Hina Again" in Japan, then you know how wrong the reviewer is. I
hope such a tawdry review hasn't turned anyone away from the series. Oh!
Three
new Reader Reveiws for Suki Nihon! Read some animation reviews
by people who actually know what they are doing. -PAW-
Just read it and love
it.
Sorry for the lack of an
update yesterday. I was busy not doing an update. But tonight.. you get
an exceptionally... interesting.. VIRAL
SPEAK. Also, I want to comment on some assorted newsity. IGN reports
that Yamauchi is like retiring soon. Which he has been doing for
the last two years. The Legend WILL NEVER die. They also have shots of
"The Scorpion King" which is based on the third "The Mummy with Brendon
Fraiser" movie. It's by Wayforward Technology and look sinteresting move
wise.. not visually. Wayforward Technologies has some of the prettiest
looking GBC games.. and I expected their first GBA venture to be breath-taking.
I'm a little disappointed. Move wise, you see The Scorpion King wall-jumping
ala Super Metroid, down-stabbing ala Zelda 2, and generally doing special
moves and techniques that say he has the moves to rule. However, graphically,
Shantae kicks his Scorpion Butt. Shantae is a GBC game, though. So, I'm
saying that Wayforward Technologies needs to add some magical sprinkles
in the graphics department. Also, Atlus is handling the US-ifying of Ogre
Battle for GBA. All I can say is... Thank You Atlus. Gimme a great translation
on this and that Robopon 2 game.. and I'll be VERY happy. Peace people!
Check the Viral Speak
Link. -PAW-
See you later..

Stolar? I don't even know
her!
There are some people in
the industry I love to talk about. Sometimes I speak well of them, sometimes
I make fun of them. While Craig Harris is a box-full of fun, Shigeru Miyamoto
is a star of genius, and Ed Fries is a barrel of something else entirely..
not all celebrities are like inanimate objects. Some are like onions. Some
are other bits of fruit. Bernie Stolar is like a bit like a dandelion.
Some people look upon him as a weed going from Sony to Sega to Mattel and
spreading white flakey things. Others look at him as a beautiful flower
that can be plucked and crushed to make tea, coffee, and bread. anyways,
he's with BAM! now and that's unique. Speaking of BAM!, they will be releaseing
some new games this year! Here's a quick run of it.
Broken Sword: Shadow of
the Templars = PC style adventure game goodness.
Star X = Most likely
not a game with Zig Ziggler.
Dexter's Chess =
Contains lots of Vitamin DeeDee and is not a recommended source of Bobby
Fisher. May contain traces of Mandark. Use as recommended.
Stone Monkey = It
has a monkey in the title.. it must be good... however.. since it does
not contain Sock Monkey.. well.. you get the idea.
Kong = Most likely
has something to do with the movie and it's eventual rerelease? Or not..
Fire Pro Wrestling 2
= It's the return of MEN! Men in TIGHTS! TIGHT TIGHTS! And you thought
you were scared before...
Oh, Bernie you so crazy!
Okay.. enough of that. -PAW-
Capcom all over everything.
Capcom also forced out announcements.
Shantae = Well. DUH!
Resident Evil Gaiden
= Somewhere, a raised fist from a Hot Gen fan shakes at Capcom. The proper
term is "dropping the ball."
Mega Man Battle Network
2 = You've got Sequel!
Breath of Fire 2
= I'm all for SNES Ports! Now get me Demon's Crest and Super Ghouls and
Ghosts!
Street Fighter Alpha
3 = That rattling noise is the Neo Geo Pocket Color spinning in it's
shallow grave. This is great Capcom. Now let's see Darkstalkers, and some
VS games.
Mega Man Zero = A
traditional Mega Man game not starring Mega Man. Nice idea! However, you
and I know that the only other Mega Man character we want to play as in
a Mega Man game has a yellow scarf, not a light saber.
Shantae - Oh, did
I already mention this one?
And we have yet to hear of
any developments in the never-ending Capcom quest to get Bernie Stolar
to join their company. -PAW-
There's a big K in Kaput.
As the retailer K-Mart has
learned. The company has filed for chapter 11 bankruptsy in order to restructure
and resurrect it's dying business. You see.. K-Mart got lock, shocked,
and barreled by Target and Wal-Mart this last Holiday season. Interesting
news, I suppose. Somewhere, Jeff Foxworthy is weeping openly. -PAW-

There is nothing to report...
But that doesn't stop the
DMG Ice flavor! Anyhow, here's a little bit of updating for you. Did you
miss an update this January? Click
here for the 2002 archive for January. Next month is February.
That means that during that month, DMG Ice will be FOUR years old (officially)
and that also means it's time for some changes. Here's the plan for those
wondering, aside from a nifty new feature for the staff which means you'll
hear more from them in the future, there will be new content here and I'm
streamlining the site. In order to do this, I'll be slowly draining the
Library, Area DMG, the Pokédex 2.0, and a few other sections of
their tasty content as I swiftly rework content and put it up in a slightly
new form into a new type of streamlined section over the month of February.
Essentially, to celebrate being four, I'm compiling everything loose into
ONE place to make it easier for you, the readers, to find content. As I
do this, the older content will be mentioned as newsity when it is updated.
Also, since everything is being streamlined, loading time will be faster,
the site will STILL maintain compatability with older browsers and I'll
be freeing up a lot of space for new content. Reviews, Suki Nihon, and
Snowflake Studios will remain untouched by this massive rebirthing. You'll
see content you never knew we had pop up and it will be very exciting.
Viral Speak will remain the same and you may see some new Viral Speak tommorrow!
The forums will stay the same and new features will show up as part of
our newsity. In other words, this is an update of great usefulness. I'll
be addressing a lot of the complaints and suggestions we have recieved
over the last year and will be implementing a wonderful transformation.
Oh! A brand new READER REVIEW!
The reviews page is up to 1,007 reviews online! Oh, for those wondering,
"The Bargain Bin"
now accepts reviews for PSOne and Game Cube as -with proper screens- those
are fairly portable systems now. *Holds up his PSOne with battery pack
attached* I've been working on graphics for use in the new look and I'm
happy to say that I think everyone will find it to be interesting looking
and hopefully fun. I hope you enjoy it. Oh, yeah.. it's kind of a slow
news day... but.. yeah. -PAW-
