Time rant.
Not
much news.. so I will talk about how AOL and Time Warner are merging to
make a lovely widespread coverage of cable modemness. Oh, well. There goes
the neighborhood. I want a Cable Modem.. but will I have to put up with
AOL? Will I have to have a USB instead of a PC Card modem? Will Linux and
Mac users cry EVIL and attack AOL? Might be fun. ^_^ -PAW-
GO
Mega!
My
copy of Mega Man Xtreme shipped! My Song Pro has not. In fact, despite
what other sites are saying.. I'm saying we won't see it until March. It
was March at their booth at CES. So, I'm saying March. Why? Because I know.
Anyways, it'll be worth it. Thanks to the Secure Digital Music Initiative
and some *finally* smart moves by the Song Pro company... we get a superior
MP3 product. Although.. can't wait? Song Pro Jr. is available as "MP3 Boy"
in Hong Kong. You're local import and grey market goods distributor might
have one. ^_^ -PAW-

Lucky

Hey,
do you live in Japan? If you do.. um be at these places below on those
dates at 9AM to 3PM for a nifty little "13th Annual Next Generation World
Hobby Fair".
Tokyo
Big Site: January 13 and 14
Fukuoka
Dome: January 21
Osaka
Dome: January 28
Nagoya
Dome: February 4
It's
free, nifty, and here's the kicker. You can get Celebi for your Pokemon
Gold/Silver/Crystal. Okay.. only if you applied for Celebi in advance and
are one of the first 20,010 to get there. Nice. Oh, for those who wanna
know.. both versions of the superior sequel to Dragon Warrior Monsters
will debut there for hands-on play. The sequal is called: "Dragon Warrior
Monsters 2: Malta's Magical Keys" and it's two versions are named: "Luka's
Start on a Journey" and "Iru's Adventure". The difference between the two?
The gender of the main character and how the game plays out. Oh, yeah....
monster distribution as well. Of course. Like 'em! -PAW-
Salohcin
Geen: So, wait, If Pokemon has Mew and
Celebi, and Dragon Warrior Monsters is kind of following in Pokemon's foot
steps, does that mean that they'll have their own Mew and Celebi? Maybe
it'll be in the form of one of those Green Slimes. All hail the gooey...
Akemi
yawns.
Philip:
I nabbed him from the reader cage.. bwa ha ha!
Sew

Izek.
(Bless You!) It's a bulbous, translucent blue, $799.95 sewing machine.
Why should you care? It's a sewing machine... with a dark and seedy connection
to Game Boy. You see, what you can do with the machine.. is well.. to put
it straight.. the Game Boy can be used to tell the Sewing Machine what
to do. And it's coming here in the USA. YAY! -PAW-
Salohcin
Geen: Slap it in a Pokemon box and let
it sell! Can't wait to see those at the local Gamestop...
Akemi
coughs.
Philip
sighs.
A
little ranting!
Squishysoft?
The
heck? Anyways, that's a tad odd. The game looks.. okay. I certainly
hope the main character has other animation than what I saw in the screenshots.
"Score points for its innovation in removing the glare from the screen,
but take away a bunch because the screen doesn't light up as bright as
its competition." That was rather
ripe. Ahem. The Cobra Light isn't as bright as the Worm Light;
but it's loads brighter than everything else. Especially when compared
to the Blob Light. Oh, well. Oh, the mother of all Tiny,
Tight Ranties updated. Mmm.. Viral Speak.-PAW-
Salohcin
Geen: From the pictures, that Squishysoft
game looks more like a Gameboy version of the movie Office Space then anything
else. ::Shivers:: Freaks me out...
Akemi
goes back to sleep.

And now Salohcin Geen goes back to his cage.

Stuff!
Hey,
we updated! Well, I was working on something you'll like! In fact, I'll
post it right below! On a nice note, Mega Man Xtreme is finally hitting
ALL the stores. It was released last week; but not everywhere. (Go figure..)
Also out this week is Mario's Tennis. Yummy. I have just beaten the Extreme
Mode in Mega Man Xtreme. I'll be reviewing it very shortly. Expect the
review by tommorrow. In the world of Nintendo's Game Boy Advance.... here's
the
new deal! And my impressions.
White
with grey trim = Classy!
Purple
with light grey trim = Sassy!
Clear
with white trim = Naked!
Mario
Advanced = Mario All-Stars with only one game. Here's to hoping that Nintendo
keeps this up and gets us SMB3 and Super Mario World too.
Kuru
Kuru Kururin = Guide the stick. Be the stick. All sexual overtones aside.
Guide a long moving stick through narrow passageways. If you get stuck
or hit certain areas.. it's over and you'll be left feeling a bit sad and
unsatisfied.
F-Zero
= Do it fast and hard or you'll crash and burn. Drive that is.
Napoleon
= Radio Free French.
Golden
Sun = gaaaaahhhhhh *moisture forming*
Mario
Kart = Nothing like fourplay with banana's and spiked shells for that next
get-together.
Game
Boy Wars = Turn Based Murders on the land, air, and Sea.
Fire
Emblem: Maiden of the Dark = Nintendo has kept this series from ever reaching
the shores on the NES, and on the SNES. They should consider at least giving
us this one.
That
Horse Racing game = Here is a title with a chance of getting to the US
that is about the same as a Snowball's chance in the Stock Market... I
mean.. Hell.
Tactics
Orge = No relation to the Flail-Mindlessly-Into-Battle Orge.
Magical
Vacation = Book me on this one. It'll be a real pleasure trip.
Mmm..
let's see. One real time strategy game, two turn based strategy games,
three RPGs. Mmm.. yummylicious! -PAW-
Philip:
Mmm... yum.
Hooray
for Nubys!
Draw
something that smells funny. Or maybe not. ^_^ Anyways, Nuby could use
a new mascot. Details at Snowflake
Studios! YAY! IT's one mean beer coaster. -PAW-
Akemi
runs off to get her pencil.
Quagh
draws a stick figure, will this work? It won first place at the "Can't
Draw, Can't Vote" contest this year in Florida.
Philip:
If
you haven't noticed.. I've been grabbing random people off of my AIM and/or
ICQ lists. You have to add Philipdmgice (AIM) or 10714727 (ICQ) to your
AOL AIM, ICQ, Everbuddy, or whatever you use. NO BEGGING. If you beg, I
will not consider you.

Philip

That's

Well,

backlog.. O_O So, I'm doing larger updates for it, starting tommorrow...
Oh, enter the contest! Yes! No? But You MUST! -PAW-

Akemi:
He will not enter in a box, he will not enter with a fox. He will
not enter for you or me, he will not enter, Jazz-he-be. *smirks*
Adrock:
Umm... One fish two fish... forget it.
Super
SaiyaMew: Hop on Pop... oh that's just wrong.

Golden.
Golden
Sun, I want you. That is all. -PAW-
Ice
Blue: Stay gold, Poneyboy.
Jazz:
Importers beware.
Akemi:
I need a tan.

I need a GBA.
Super

Philip:

NOE's
Chozo-late Factory.
Tendoproject
had the scoop up first; but Nintendo of Europe -the poor loveable people-
had the disrepute of "leaking the information". "Metroid Advance" is coming
to the Game Boy Advance. I'm here to tell you something. Should you be
excited about the slightly altered Super Nintendo port? Sure! By all means
be happy. How am I sure this is just a modified Super Nintendo port and
NOT an original game? I talk to people. The current view of the Game Boy
Advance is that it is a "Portable Super Nintendo". The view of retailers
is also "Portable Super Nintendo". People hear "Portable Super Nintendo"
and they want ports of Super Nintendo games. The Game Boy Advance will
deliver specialized ports and remixes of Super Nintendo games. F-Zero Advance
is a remix of the Super Nintendo game, Super Mario Advance is a remix of
one fourth of Super Mario All Stars. Majesco is currently working to "port"
Super Nintendo favorites. Nintendo of Europe was showing off old proto-type
sketches of the GBA, before Space World, running Super Street Fighter 2
(The Super Nintendo Version). It stands to reason that this title is a
"slightly altered" Super Nintendo port. Which means, it WILL have some
slight tweaks and changes; but not enough to warrent calling it a brand
new game. Also on that list is "Golden Sun 2". Which seems to make sense
considering the way Golden Sun is being developed. Golden Sun has been
in development for a while, actually. And if Camelot is intending to "pull
a Square", then the sequel is already on the boards. What I mean, by pulling
a Square is releasing 9, and 10 in their Final Fantasy series in under
6
to 8 months apart. It's "unsane" to think about in terms of QA and we won't
see that rapid motion in the USA. But in Japan, this is entirely plausible.
If Golden Sun hits the launch date or at least the launch month, we will
-in Japan- see it's sequel by Christmas. Nintendo promised that game development
times would be drastically shortened to "6 to 8 months" for the N64, GBC,
GBA, and GCB (GCB = Game Cube.) and it looks like they might deliver. Although,
I would like to say that a good 50% of this is speculation. The other 50%
is fact, and logic. Take this as you will. There is some salt in the cupboard,
to the right of the coffee filters. But in the best case scenario, I'll
be able to wrap my hands around Samus Aran next Christmas. -PAW-
SD
is better than VD.
Or
rather Game Boy Advance, according to a Nihon Ltd press release, is expected
to utilize that new SD Card thing. You wanna know why? Nihon speculates
for games like Pokemon. I'm saying. Nope, think more on the lines of what
a LOT of people in Japan can do at the nearest Lawsons. Yes, I'm talking:
buy and download new game levels, or complete games onto the cards. Let's
pretend that Golden Sun 2 had the ability to use the Mobile Adaptor to
download a new dungeon, item, character, etc. Fine right? But WHERE will
that new data go? Especially if it isn't merely "unlocked" in the game!
Simple, an SD Card. You could also hook it up to the Game Cube for larger
downloads, etc. Now, Craig of IGN Pocket has the
right idea about a "specialized" cartridge. It's logical. We will
see though. We will see. -PAW-
Gone
Tidbits, gotta problem with that?
Sorry..
I couldn't resist. Media Rings announced the Japanese RPG "Zero Tours"
(Tenative title) for the GBA. YAY. Mega Man Xtreme owns j00; so I'm saying..

kidding right? It ticks me off when websites, and magazines get
game reviewers who either belittle the Game Boy's specs, or appear to absolutely
hate it. -PAW-

Have

I found THIS to be truly entertaining. Anyways, let me explain
something about Copyright Law. I break it. I have broken a lot of copyright
laws and I will probably continue to do so. I do so in the name of PARODY.
Yes, parody, no matter how vulgar, or sublime is legal. But that's not
the issue in this case. You see, as much as people would like to think
Nintendo is being mean; Nintendo is doing the right thing. You see, in
order to actually PUBLISH (this isn't the same for internet walkthroughs,
or FAQs; because they aren't in hard print format) and DISTRIBUTE NATIONALLY/INTERNATIONALLY
(sell) a guide with Nintendo characters; without Nintendo's express written
permission or consent. It's a rule of thumb to ASK permission. This isn't
about controlling content, or whatever *bad word coming up, close your
eyes briefly* "doodie" Daily Radar is saying. In fact, it's all about Imagine
(NO RELATION TO SNOWBALL OR IGN!) Media not asking permission first. A
stitch in time saves nine. This lawsuit went forward on the 13th of December,
2000. Imagine just needs to say: "Okay, we'll ask next time.", then pull
their guides and then redistribute them. Not a huge loss. No Nintendo coverage
at that place? Screw it! Here's a list of better sources of multi-system
news.
