Well, other places have tidal waves and tidal waves suck. However, I have a mean modem and it was being mean. That sucked. Also, I lost the Christmas cards. >_< So, I can not get those up for you. I will try to recreate them and get them to you soon. But for now, please enjoy some new reviews I wasn't able to put up yesterday! Also.. the After Christmas Squishy Special is coming! ARISE! Capcom confirmed Mega Man Zero 4. YAY! Oh, more later! Comment? -PAW- Top? ![]() December 18th, 2004 - A Series of unfortunate Pathetic defectS, Please. I suppose you visit this site because you have nothing better to do with your time. Although, I think you would probably be better served by visiting another site. I fear that a severe lack of taste must have led you to such an unpleasent and infrequently updated website as thus. In fact, I have nothing of pleasent abode to tell you on this day. Nintendo, in an act of sheer desperation I am sure, has announced an MP3/MPEG4 Player for the GBA. This device will be available in February 2005 from their own Japanese website. Should you desire to own such a device, I would assure you that the instructions will probably be in Japanese and you will be unable to read them. Thus you will have wasted your money on a system that plays movies and music stored on an SD card. Considering that SD cards can get up to 1GB of space or so, I think you would be better served using that card in some other device than this one that Nintendo has so unscrupulously announced. Why ever would you want to download a movie or tv program and then watch it on the go in your Nintendo Game Boy Advance or DS? Why ever would you want to listen to happy music on such a depressing device? This is not the end of the unpalletable menu of aged newsity I have to serve you. If I were you, I would shut down my computer now and shoot said computer with a gun. If you need one, just go to any high school in the area and break open a locker. All the kids carry the infernal things today. It may only be a matter of days before Macintosh release "iGun" in pink and purple with white shades. Go outside and hope that the squirrels do not attack you in unmentionable ways. Go on and do it! Or you could stay here, morbid as this may be, and listen to what a company named Media Create has to say about the PSP launch sales data. The PSP -shipping with a grand total of 199,980 units and 10 actually working ones- has sold through about 75% of their shipment. They sold a miniscule amount of units, precisely 166,000, to unsuspecting people. Nintendo, in the same week, sold an additional 181,000 units of their Nintendo DS. The DS appears to have soundly defeated their launching rival in terms of sales. The Nintendo DS has sold over 622,000 units since the launch in Japan. Add that with the launch in the USA and the Nintendo DS has already sold over one million plus all over the world. Some may speculate that the PSP was hurt by negative word of mouth brought about by numerous defects in the initial shipments. Those who speculate that are mostly defective in their own ways. These defects included problems with the UMD drive and the screens. There was even a most precarious problem with the PSP's analog "nub" and even buttons falling off. Effectively castrating the device of any practical sense of control in many games. This must have made many Japanese people very sad. Sad Japanese people are not as infinitely amusing as other sad Asian people. Yet, the misery that they endure is just too horrible to describe here. If you have not fallen asleep or left out of boredom by now, you probably feel that you need applause or some sort of content based reward. I assure you that NONE of that will be happening today. I have neither the time currently to reward your morbid fascination with this website. I think it is best if I get some sleep to get over this terrible cold made more terrible by the lack of my beloved. I have also aquired Kingdom Hearts to accompany in those restless moments of sneezes and sickness. Yet they are not as dear as the one that is currently unavailable. For such a love, more precious than diamonds and more fragile than glass, can only be fleeted away on some sort of vacationary escapade. I find that it is difficult to chronicle this and thus I have sorrowfully taken a small break from a few things to prepare myself for the upcoming holiday. Those who are Squishy watchers will be rewarded with a SPECIAL CHRISTMAS EPISODE of that comic. See as Squishy searches for the TRUE meaning of Christmas. It will warm your heart, but not in the way that Hbomb is planning on warming ME for missing all those deadlines. I'm hiding the flamethrower. Comment? -PAW- Top? ![]() December 10, 2004 - Rolling in the verDictS. I wasn't going to report on this earlier as all the facts were not in. Since, I do not work for the Associated Press, I care about getting facts before I report on things. The Nintendo DS -according to Media Create- has sold about 468,883 units in it's first week of sales in Japan. This added to their US market sales, means that over 1 million Nintendo DS units have been sold worldwide. Nintendo upped their production to try and ship over 2.8 million units before the end of the year. Here are the top five Nintendo DS games and their sales figures. Super Mario 64 DS - 120,000 units Sawaru Made in Wario (Wario Ware Touched!) - 117,000 units Pokemon Dash - 50,000 units Daigassou! Band Bros. (Jam with the Band) - 32,000 units Kimi no Tame Nara Shineru (Feel the Magic XY/XX) - 27,000 units Nice day of sales for the DS, here's some better news though! Team XLink has apparently tunneled the Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt demo and will release some software that works with LinkSYS 802.11g routers. Once that software is actually up and running, I'll provide a link to it. Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is out. Buy it. This is a quick update before the Nyquil knocks me out again. Damn it! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..... Comment? -PAW- Top? ![]() December 3, 2004 - Stuff I forgot to mention. Here is a tiny news update for you to know! 1. Majesco has the rights to Disney shows now and will release shows like Kim Possible and Stitch the Series for release on GBA Video. DS Video will be demonstrated at E3, but currently it sounds to be a behind doors deal. 2. PictoChat has been successfully tunneled by a small dev group called XLink. Should be interesting to see how that turns out. I'll keep ya posted. 3. Final Fantasy 1 & 2 is hot, everyone should buy it. Oh, the website for it is up and quite nice. The game will be reviewed soon. 4. Reviews are coming, please stay posted as we get these out. Sorry for the short update. My head hurts a bit and I took medicine. That will be all you may hear from me tonight as I pass out. Oh, trying out some code so the right browsers see the "ALT" text. I'm using "Titles" instead of ALT. Please tell me if it works. Comment? -PAW- Top? ![]() December 1 - 2, 2004 - Where did November go? Holy goodness, was I asleep for a whole month? Well, probably. November had a lot of good things happening, mainly the Nintendo DS launch, and my brain just kind of kept shutting down. So, here are some slight changes. Reviews and other such content may get news items or they may just.. you'll see. For now... brand new Viral Speak, and some news to make up for that! First things first, Nintendo DS news. 1. Users with certain brands of GBA Flash Cards have reported messages like "DS Option Pack Detected" and instances of the internal alarm clock asking if they want to turn on a "Rumble Feature." This falls into place with the idea of the DS playing GBA games in Slot 2 as a Secondary Function and not the Primary Function of that slot. So, does this mean we will see rumble/motion sensor/hard drive devices for the DS later on that use the second slot? Do fish swim? Is Rub Love? Well, it appears that Nintendo's Pocket Gadget is going to evolve in ways that we are going to.. enjoy. 2. Namco has stated that a Xenosaga game and a version of Baten Kaitos are headed toward the Nintendo DS before the end of 2005. Did you just choke on whatever cookies you were munching on when you read that? I know I did when I first read about it. 3. Over 500,000 DS units have been sold in North America since launch. That accounts for more than 90% of the allotted launch shipment. At an MSRP of $149.99 per unit, that amounts to $74,995,000 in tasty sales. Just think, there are at least 500,000 potential opponents out there as soon as the DS goes online. The GBA sold over 300,000 units in the same weekend. Oh, yes! 4. In a recent Famitsu interview, Miyamoto stated that Nintendo is working with SquareEnix on online plans and that the DS will be online a lot sooner than people think. Seems reasonable to me. Oh, yeah. The Nintendo DS is going to be shipping in a all black color before E3 2005. There is supposedly one more color variation set to hit the market before the big show in May. So, the mystery continues. I think the third color variation will be a white color. (Just watch Nintendo pull out "Grape" instead.) 5. Not really DS news, but important none the less. The PSP will launch in Japan with only 200,000 units and many of the key games for it, like Ridge Racers and Metal Gear Ac!d have been delayed into 2005. Hey, not too bad a launch Sony! I mean, it really shows you are serious about competing. Secondly, Viral Speak for the people! It containts begging, AND the fate of Mythri! MUST READ! READ! Comment? -PAW- Top? | |
