You know what rules? Game Boy music. You know what I mean. If you have ever listened to Radio DMG, than you know of the wonder that is the Game Boy. Anyhow, the Nanoloop is considered to be the most popular music generator for the Game Boy. 6955 uses it, as does a growing movement of Game Boy musicians. Well, would you buy original Game Boy music that was composed by professionals? I know I will. The label "Disco Bruit" is releasing Nanoloop 1.0 this January, 2002. It's a collection of songs made with.. NANOLOOP! OOOH! Well, here's the place to take a peek at it and here's a place that will be selling it. It's swifty and stuff. -PAW-

Heard you died. Thanks.
According to Imagine Media, the January issue of Next Generation magazine will be the last issue. They barely covered Game Boy and Game Boy Advance; but I'm glad they didn't. We will all miss the glossy screenshots, especially the photo-shopped ones. And, I'm sure the staff at that magazine can get other jobs. But isn't it nice to know that Next Generation has gone the way of Incite magazine? I think you can guess that I wasn't a fan of Next Generation magazine. They weren't near as bad as Incite, but.. yeah.. I'm not sorry to see them go. -PAW-

Get PKed.
If that PK stands for Perrin Kaplan, sure.. why not. While, IE Magazine has a less than flattering photo of the sharp witted voice of Nintendo's PR.. they have a fairly entertaining interview with her. It's mostly about the g@/\/\3 c00b; but still worth your time to read. Click here, if you would like to read it! -PAW-

Upstate  Theirs.
I was peruseing my mail the other day, gathering up reviews.. and I got an interesting e-mail from a guy named Dimitri. If you don't know who he is, he runs Upstate Games. Upstate Games is an importing company that Dimitri operates out of what is essentially, a New York hotel suite. Now, he had his panties in a wad over an article in our hardware section about a complaint involving his company and an order our Canadian buddy Infinity Yak had ordered. Now, if you followed the saga.. Dimitri said it was a lie and was mad because Yak quoted personal e-mail. Last I checked, you can quote e-mail. There was nothing on the e-mails saying that they were to be kept private. Dimitri complained and Yak said that he may be taking it down. However, Dimitri threatened me in his e-mail. I don't like e-mail threats, and Dimitri should know that. Essentially, don't try to start something. I went and I gathered some information on Upstate Games and if you intend to order anything in the future.. well..read this article FIRST. This article ISN'T going to be taken down. Enjoy it and eat it with a spoon. -PAW-

Quick and Dirty wins the race.
Updates will be fairly sparse this week as I prepare myself for five things.

1. Finishing up this semesters classes.
2. My newest job.
3. Enrolling for the next semester.
4. Hitting 1000 reviews this Friday.
5. The Lord of the Rings.

That is why there is only this new paragraph here. Also, after we hit 1000 reviews. I'll announce the nominees for the GOLD THINGIES! YAY! Well, peace people! -PAW-

Strange and unusual instance!
Philip updated for a Saturday! Such an odd happening must surely be the work of aliens or something. It IS the work of aliens! Pikmin to be exact! Anyhow, much unusual stuff! "Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World" will be called "Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2" in the US when it is released this February. I was amazed and shocked at this revelation. However, it makes me sad that they didn't name it Super Rehash Advance.. as.. that would be more fitting. Then again, they could call it Super Deadly Disease Advance 2: Super Mario World, and I would still buy it because it's Super Mario World and that game was cool. Well, if you've heard about Motocross Maniacs Advance, why not check out the reviews in our vast archive that concern themselves with Motocross Maniacs 2 for Game Boy Color. Speaking of Reviews.. two exceptionally long, brand new reader reviews from MSG Cow and Mew Barrymore! Advance Wars and Scrabble for Game Boy Color are reviewed. 996 YO! Do your best! Quick word on the Scrabble game! Runecraft is responsible for the game and they mentioned it in an old short interview we did with them at an E3 a year or so ago. Interesting read. WM is coming soon. Now.. I must herd Pikmin. I introduced my youngest sister to the drug that is Pikmin and it occured to me that Pikmin are a little like sheep. Because she actually did a frantic run through one of the levels looking for a missing Pikmin as it was getting dark. She found the Pikmin near the stream and ever so carefully got it home before the predators came out. The Pikmin live among us and we should appreciate them. I got to thinking about how I would love to see an army of Pikmin descend upon a Smurf village.. it would be.. well.. it would be hilarious. Sorry Peyo. -PAW-

My Hero Zero.
Zeri is apparently getting his own GBA game.. in a sense. Mega Man Zero is set to debut next year in Japan and the USA. The current data on the game, suggests Zero is the main character in this one. -PAW-

Rayman sneaks by..
I saw Rayman 2 for GBC today. I also picked it up for review purposes! So, expect a review of the Rayman game that came out.. that no one seemed to notice.. in the near future. Speaking of reviews.. there will be a deluge on Friday.. be there. -PAW-

Watch out for Falling Prices!
Those impale more shoppers everyday. If you have not been paying attention, Game Boy Advance game prices are falling. Lady Sia is selling for $30 nstead of $40, and Chu Chu Rocket has dropped to $20 at many stores. Just so you know. Oh, to commemmorate the arrival of DMG Ice's 1000+ Review breaking that is coming up.. I had planned to launch out some.. interesting stuff for you.. but Finals interfered... so.. Saturday update! -PAW-

N*Sync and down the drain.
Or not. I was at Wal-Mart and horror of horrors.. the N*Sync GBC game stared at me with a demonic gaze. The eyes of those future Village People gazing back in horrific.. evil horror. Anyways, then I thought... CONTEST! First reader to send in an objective, fairly well written review of the N*Sync game, with a picture proving that they own it, a picture of the game in their Game Boy unit, and a home address will recieve a Christmas Card from me with a ten dollar bill, and our sincere condolences. So what do you say people? Wanna get on the road with N*Sync? *snickers* No, really.. I'm serious. I'm offering a bounty on what looks to be a very painful review. You get extra condolences if prints out to over 5 pages long.. -PAW-

Natsume all night long.
Natsume intends to release a long stream of GBA titles next year. Here's a quick rundown.

Pocky and Rocky with Becky: No, it's not pr0n. It's a top-down action game that is lots of fun. Okay.. if you'll buy it.. I'll tell you it's pr0n.

4 Medabot games: 2 Action titles. 2 RPG titleas for the customizable robot game formerly known as Medarot in Japan. Thank God it is coming over here. The Japanese GBC games were great.

Car Battler Go: I remember this from BAM!'s booth. Too bad that BAM! lost out on such a great little car combat game. BAM! still has Ecks VS Sever though.

Wizardy: After five GBC ports in the PC series made it in Japan.. we get a GBA adaption. Yay.

An Untitled Fishing Game: I hope it contains the words River and King.

Lufia Advanced: Well, that's just Sinistral..

There you go! Too bad that the words Harvest and Moon aren't in that list. -PAW-

Dirty habit we all have..
Well, parents, children, and such! The Dirty Dozen is in. The Dirty Dozen is a list of toys that market violent content to children. As I know my readers are aware of DMG Ice's support of the Lion and Lamb Project. I would like you to look over the list, and feel free to send a comment or two to the organization. They mean well, and they are more on your side then you think. Note that they use quotes from online sources and that the list is researched. The difference between Daphne White (The lady who started The Lion and Lamb Project) and people like Joseph Lieberman is that Mrs. White actually cares enough to go do the research and be objective. Note that Advance Wars isn't on the list? That's because it's not directly marketing violence. It's marketing strategy. These lists are for parents who don't know any better. The last thing you want is a parent buying Doom and then blaming their children's problems on it. And besides.. the list is always an interesting read. Oh, for parents who may read the list and be confused on what may be appropriate for their children.. I've assembled a list of 7 Game Boy games that do not glamorize violence and would make wonderful gifts this year!

1. Harvest Moon GBC 3 - This years version of Harvest Moon is the most complex yet, it has so much packed into it. You can breed horses, go to town and see a movie, explore large new locations, get married, and of course take care of a farm. You can LIVE in this game.

2. Golden Sun - Magicl and a heartfelt story are combined in beautiful game that isn't about shooting up the town. Instead of mega violent action, gamers are presented with a wonderful storyline. Fans of the recent movies like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings will truly appreciate the lovable characters and the great depth of story and gameplay.

3. Toki Tori - A grand Game Boy Color action puzzle game with great graphics, brain numbing puzzles and a Gosh-Darn cute little birdie.

4. Nancy Drew Mysteries - A cross between Myst and Deja Vu, this intrigueing game  for the GBA will most likely be over-looked.. but it's surprisingly good for the older kids who may still love the book series.

5. Advance Wars - Despite the title, this is essentially as violent as Chess; but a bit more complex. It has cartoonish animations that can be turned off and players get more points for captureing the enemy base than destroying all the enemy units.

6. Tetris Worlds - You know what Tetris is...

7. Chu Chu Rocket - Bargained priced and ready to entertain with an enormous amount of wonderful puzzles.

Well, see you Saturday! -PAW-

Wow. Tired.
Amazing how tired you can be when you try. So far.. response to Suki Nihon has been devastatingly great! I'll have some new reviews in it tommorrow for everyone and a debut for it's About section, as well as a special Lord of the Rings related B&W's World comic at Snowflake Studios! This leads me to newsity of a wide variety of things. Oh, should DMG Ice's Newsity cover animation news? It could help on slow Game Boy news days. What do you think? -PAW-

Hot Steamy Calander Love!
Keeping track of the days has never been more.. titillating! Here's the deal from Konami and Infogrames! New games get announced and given.... extremely vague release dates! Oh, baby!

From Konami!
Motocross Maniacs Advance - March 26, 2002
Konami Arcade Advanced (Aka The best gift from Heaven since Belldandy.) - April 2002

From Infogrames!
(Because these are listed into 1st and 2nd quarter, enjoy a slight guess at the dates.)
Blender Bros. - February 2002
Atari Anniversary Advance - January 2002
Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku - May 2002
Nicktoons Racing - April 2002
Superman - April 2002

And now the real meat of this article.. comments on each of thise games.

Motocross Maniacs Advance - It would have been better to call it Motocross Maniacs 3; but.. I won't complain!

Konami Arcade Advance - A collection of old Konami arcade titles  that contains well.. Frogger, Gradius, Rush N Attack, Time Pilot, Scramble, and Yie Ar Kung Fu. Basely put.. it owns your SOUL.

Nicktoons Racing - Whee.. you can be Catdog, Spongebob, or a Rugrat.. whoo.. umm.. why doesn't that sound like fun?

Superman - After seeing all those other lack-luster, yet hyped out the tights Marvel characters with side-scrollers. Superman wants one. Yawn.. wake me up when someone does a video game staring Bone.

Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku - Now.. if this is a fighting game... it has potential. If it's a side-scroller.. it deserves to go to *snicker* |-| |= | |_.

Blender Bros. - I want to think Buster Bros.. but.. I'm hesitant to..

Atari Anniversary Collection - Should end up identical to the Dreamcast/PC/PS2 versions in terms of amount of games. Wow.. Pong in your pocket.. what will they think of next.

For those looking at already released games. Mortal Kombat Advance, Monster Rancher Advance, and Breath of Fire are on the shelf in front of me. Only Breath of Fire goes home with me. Get the picture? -PAW-

Nintendo changes it's locks.
My days of breaking in and eating Peter Main's french fries when he isn't looking are over! Noooo! Oh, well.Nintendo has handed over the green for a new security system for their internal intranet. Nintendo is using Alchemedia Technologies, Inc.'s "Mirage" software to prevent people like myself from geetting screenshots of Super Mario Advance 3, Uniracers 2, and Mario Picnic. Why is this news? I dunno. Enjoy it. -PAW-
