A bit of licorice for the road.
That makes no sense? Good. Anyhow, expect some
more Library content soon! Today EA announced that they will be
supporting the Nintendo DS. That means lots of games, crappy games; but
still games. Sega announced they will have a HUGE
-read: small- announcement as soon as the doors open on E3 2004. I
think they caught Osama Bin Laden; but I could be wrong. The best news
going around though is that Metal Slug Advance will be at E3 for Game
Boy Advance. If you have not played a Metal Slug game; than I can not
talk to you anymore until you do. So tired. Anyways. I will sleep and
you will have to wait for a little longer. Sorry about that. Comment? -PAW-

The Lull before... THE STORM!
Just gonna quickly get a few things out and
straight. There's very little news right now, expect a HUGE amount of
neat news closer to E3. If I had infinite space for screenshots and
what-not.. than I would do simple "Look! We have ONE new screen of
something" updates; but I do not have the space. So you have been
spared. Now, the BIGGEST news is Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen sueing
Acclaim for letting a good amount of games lapse. Acclaim has a lot of
troubles; but I do not feel sorry for them. However, let us talk about
GREATER things. The RETURN of Adam Pearson (AKA Adrock) to the
activeness of DMG Ice. He contributes a brand new column/editorial bit
and it is in the Library. Please click here to see it. Comment? -PAW-

Announcements for E3!
Yes, this year is the 10th E3 show and the 15th
A-Kon. We'll be covering both of them. A-Kon coverage will be about
what anime was announced at it and lots of Squishy pictures of people
and their costumes. E3 though should be waaaay better than last years
coverage. We're doing T & R commentary on games, Squishy pictures,
and general news. Also going to try and land some sweet interviews.
*looks through notes* Anyhow, here's some news that I missed while I
was sick. Oh, The 20th was the fifth anniversary of Columbine. There
was much self-indulgent mourning by a town that has kind of milked the
tragedy a bit too much. I know that sounds bad; but between the movies,
books, songs, and such.. I have no sympathy for that town anymore. It
was also the national pot smoking day, and that may explain a lot more
than people in Colorado care to admit. Anyhow, Nintendo is releasing a
"Tribal GBA" in Europe that has little tatoo style designs. It's silver
with black "thorn" style designs. Also, check this out if you haven't yet.
Well, before Nintendo's lawyers jump upon it. Which should be in a It's
pretty old; but I don't remember if My e-mail has been flooded by
companies in Kentia that want me to visit them at E3. O_o Do they
REALLY want that? Anyways.. new Viral Speak! Comment? -PAW-

You bring me shame!
Nothing heals a man faster than old and badly preserved Kung Fu movies. Thank you, RZA! Anyways, I come bearing unto you an especially long -and new- Philip Rational! The DS Life series continues in the Library! It's goooood stuff! *hops onto a Giant Magic Crane and soars away* Comment? -PAW-

Taxing...
I have a fever cold; but it will not stop me from
telling you news and such! Oh, Treasure will be releasing a Gaurdian
Heroes sequel called Gaurdian Heroes Advance later this year. Also, a
slight trimming of the buttons on the side; because the re-release of
Area DMG and the Mobile Edition is a bit far from now. Oh, closer to
E3.. expect an announcement about a Player's Choice-style program from
Nintendo that will debut closer to the launch of the Nintendo DS (Set
for September)and will involve just an addition of a sticker and a
slight drop in sticker price for several titles. The first five
Nintendo GBA Player's Choice Titles will be -according to the current
buzz going around- the following titles:
1. Super Mario Advance
2. F-Zero Advance
3. Wario Land 4
4. Advance Wars
5. Golden Sun
The games will have a reduced msrp of $19.95. Although, it will be
possible to find cheaper prices from store to store. One thing to note
is that this is a tenative plan. So, please stay tuned for eventual
confirmation on the "Player's Choice" line. Other than that.. nothing
new to report yet! Comment? -PAW-

YAY! Connection!
Anyhow, Nintendo and SquareEnix make me love them
more and more everyday. I mean, SquareEnix announced Final Fantasy 1
& 2 on one cartridge for the Game Boy Advance. There will be extra
story elements and levels in the games that were not in the PS One and
Wonderswan versions. Nintendo made me love them even more by
announceing that there will be 30 DS games shown at E3. (Most of them playable.) Wow. That's a LOT. For those who still love US, there is a brand new Philip Rational and a brand new Glass pArticle in the Library! YAY! Comment? -PAW-

Connection Problems.
My cable modem is dying. *digs grave*
Gonna get another one soon; but yeah! Anyhow, the big news is that John
Woo has bought the rights to make a movie based on the Metroid
franchise. The story is said to follow Samus Aran's first mission and
the due date for the flick is 2006. Oh! Nintendo of Japan is rumored to
be announcing ten more Famicom Mini games soon for a release date of
May 21st in Japan. Here is the list!
- Mario Bros.
- Cluclu Land
- Balloon Fight
- Wrecking Crew
- Dr. Mario
- Dig Dug
- Takahashi Meijin's Adventure Island
- Makaimura (Ghosts n' Goblins)
- Twinbee
- Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Douchuu
Good stuff, no? Yes? Woo! Later! Comment? -PAW-

Yes, we ARE that cheap!
Hey, people. You've already heard about Mario Party for GBA and Mario Tennis right? Good. Anyhow, the Newsity Archives updated
with all of March and the new cover is up! Our DMG Diva for April is
April O' Neil. Oh, I'm good. There is a brand new old and ironic thing
in the Infections and a brand new controversial "Milk This" from Hbomb! See those two pieces of contentual goodness in the Library! Comment? -PAW-

Grey-Listed Entertainment.
Whatcha think of the NES Classic
Series? Like them so far? Apparently a lot of people have been
complaining that the packaging is not red and white with little
mini-boxes ala the Japanese release. However, what they failed to
realize is that the game paks in the NES series are grey like NES
cartridges. A quick call to Nintendo's marketing revealed that the game
paks are going to be grey colored instead of the standard black color.
So, it seems that we did not get screwed out of a special edition
package for the US after all. To top it off, there is a special NES
Classics Box; but only as a Nintendo Power Subscriber bonus. The ads
for the special box will be tucked in with the promotional material
included with each game. The special NES Classics box has room for a
total of 10 Game Paks and a space for your Game Boy Advance SP. Since
there are only 8 Game Paks in the NES Classics series, we can only
wonder what the remaining two spaces are for. Comment? -PAW-
GBN-Trigue.....
We know what the screen size for the
Game Boy's next incarnation will be; but not the processor. Apparently
the chip-set, while not completed, includes an ARM1176JZ(F)-S chip as
part of it's internal design, according to our R&D source. The
other part of the chipset is apparently from ATI. The ARM is supposed
to help ensure backwards compatability with previous GB games; but the
system uses another media as well. The funny thing about the
ARM1176JZ(F)-S is that it is meant for wireless and downloadable
applications as well as 3D. Although we suspect that the ARM chip is a
slave chip to a Gecko-ish main processor. What will get people's
attention the most though will be the GBN's screen. It will be an OLED
from Kodak. An OLED is an Organic Light Emitting Diode. Sharper than
Plasma and Glass HDTVs, the system screen is really sharp and gives the
PSP's mud-station graphics a run for it's money. Comment? -PAW-
