Poke Bounty Part One: Breakaway My name is Brighton Wells. I am a bounty hunter that uses Pokemon. The following is the story of my life up to this point... "JESSE! JAMES! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU TO BE CAREFUL WATCHING MY MEOWTH!!!!!" The boss screamed at his workers. He knew how hard it was to manage Team Rocket. "Well, at least you never screw up Brighton." A tall blonde haired man eerily walked out of the shadows. "I will never let you down sir. You found me and raised me as your own. I owe you my life for that." Brighton replied softly. "I have a job for you Brighton. I want you to go out and kidnap this man" Giovanni holds up a picture of Prof. Oak. " With out him around, our job will be a lot easier. We can finally capture and steal all 150 pokemon and win that worldwide contest! Bwa haha!" "I understand sir. I will be on my way shortly." Brighton ran down to the launch bay and grabbed his poke belt. This was a special belt that allowed him to carry ten pokeballs instead of the usual six. He hopped into the personal shuttle and flew off toward Pallet Town. He began to finally think about what he was doing, and he started to realize that it was wrong, but he shook the thought from his mind and continued the flight. Meanwhile in Pallet Town in Professor Oak's lab, Oak is teaching his daily class to all the nine year olds who would be leaving the next season on their own Pokemon journeys. In the front row were his two best students: His own grandson, Gary Oak, and Gary's archrival, Ash Ketchum. They eagerly listened to everything that the Professor was saying. Though Ash's attention started drifting toward the back of the class at the cutest girl in the class, Mindy. Oak coughed sarcastically and Ash once again faced the front. He looked back real quick in time to see Mindy wink at him. He blushed. Gary saw this and grew angry cause Mindy was his girlfriend! Brighton landed the craft on the outside edge of town and opened the canopy. He grabbed his electro-net gun and headed off for the lab. He busts in and yells, "Everyone down!" All the kids yell and fall except for Ash and Gary who run and grab a pokeball each. Ash turns to Gary and says, "We'll have to join together for once! But don't think this makes use friends!" Ash throws his pokeball while Gary stands there staring at Ash and blinking.Ash sees that his pokemon is a Jynx. Brighton throws a ball and out pops a Graveller. Ash tells the Jynx to attack with water gun. This knocks out the Graveller. Brighton has Graveller return and he lets out a Gengar. Brighton tells the Gengar to use sleep on Jynx and then use dream eater. The Jynx faints. Ash has Jynx and he throws another random pokeball all while Gary sits there staring. Out pops a Mewtwo! Ash begins barking attacks to the pokemon, and Brighton realizes that this is his chance. He pulls out the electro-net gun and fires it at Oak. Ash hears the shot and sees the net heading for Oak. He jumps in its path. Ash is caught by the net. "DAMN!," Brighton yells. He taps a button on his watch and disappears. Gary finally comes out of the trance and runs over towards Mindy to see if she is ok. She starts to get up and pushes Gary out of the way. He falls flat on his face. She runs over toward Ash. She cuts open the electro-net and helps him up. "Are you ok?" She asks. "I think so." He replies. Then she gives him a peck on the cheek and says, "You're so brave Ash!" Gary looks on astonishingly and angrily. Mindy begins to walk out and stops in front off Gary. She mutters, "You are so worthless Gary Oak! It's over between us! Ash is my boyfriend now!" Then she slaps him and he passes out. Ash stands their smiling then remembers Professor Oak. He jumps over the desk to check on him. "Are you allright?" He asks. "Yes yes, I'm fine. Class dismissed!" All the other children run out and Ash stays to help the Oak clean the lab up. On his way out, Ash looks at the passed out Gary and chuckles. Brighton boots up the shuttle and set for the coordinates for Team Rocket's secret base. Those thoughts from earlier came back. He knew that this was wrong. He forgot it for a while. When he landed in the bay, he headed for his quarters. He had a debriefing in an hour, so he must complete this work quickly. He walked into the room and turned on the lights and his computer. He knew that Giovanni had some files that held the key to his own past.. Giovanni and encrypted these files so that Brighton could never know the true nature of his past. Brighton got to work on trying to crack the code. He was already finished with one-third of the decrypting. He still had a lot of work to go. Meanwhile back in Pallet, it was Friday night. Ash and Mindy were out on their first date. They sat overlooking the lake with the moonlight twinkling on the water. Mindy remarked, "This is so romantic. You are such a nice person Ash. I can't believe I actually dated that punk Gary! He is so selfish!" Ash proceeded to put his arm around Mindy. Mindy spoke up again, "Ash, I need you to promise me something. I need you to promise me that you will come back to me safe and sound from your Pokemon journey." "Of course.. Anything for you Mindy." Ash replied. "You're so sweet Ash." Mindy and Ash proceeded to kiss very romantically... Brighton was called into Giovanni's office. "YOU FAILED ME!!!!" Giovanni screamed. "But sir! He had a Mewtwo!" Brighton replied. Giovanni began "I DON'T GIVE A" Brighton interrupted him abruptly, "No! I don't give a damn about what you think! I am sick and tired of doing your dirty work! I despise you!" Brighton quickly beat Giovanni over the head with a book and ran out. Giovanni sat up and hit the PA button and spoke into it, "We have an intruder. Stop Brighton Wells at all costs!" An alarmed sounded. Brighton raced through the corridors to his quarters. He grabbed his poke belt and stun gun. He took a look at his laptop that was decrypting the flies. It had nearly finished. He had to disconnect it and take it with him.. He ran out and toward the launch bay. There he ran into Jesse and James. They released their Arbok and Ekans. Brighton was about to throw a pokeball, but thought better of it and pulled out the stun gun and zapped all four of them. "I don't have time for you idiots" He jumped into his personal craft. He powered up the engines and the weapons. He shoots the doors out and flies off. While flying off. He opens up the laptop and sees what the decryption had finished. It didn't tell him much. The only thing of importance was a picture of that kid that defeated him back in Pallet Town. Well, that's my story so far. Someday I'll make my way back to Team Rocket's secret base and get the rest of that information on my life. Now I go around looking for jobs. I am a professional bounty hunter.
