Verification Bitches. Yeah, I cussed.. what of it? Well, anyhow the exhibitor badge verification was quick and painless. But.. I went to verifiy my press credentials on a lark and spent about a good half an hour haggling with the people at the press verification booth. Apparently they don't think Knob Noster exists or that we have articles? Bah. I've been in the industry far freaking longer than that lady at the verification booth. But I got my press badge anyways so I guess that makes it all worthwhile? I'll scan it later. Lowres camera.... Well, the camera.. it is.. only for good lighting and E3 is all abouit very, very, very bad lighting. So, the shots I took didn't turn out the way I wanted them to. But.. there should be some more soon. However, you just want me to comment on the games! HA HA HA! Oh, Craig. I got a neat Batman Hero Clicks Statue from Kemco. Limited edition Batmanness! Just so you know. The normal ones won't be out for a looooooooong time, so sleep better knowing that I have one.. and... you seem to NOT have one! BWA HA HA! Metroid Fusion This game is almost game of the show. Almost. Show not done yet. This one.. it's the clone wars.. no? Hmm.. anyhow, here's how the special E3 demo goes. You start out in a little room and there's a computer. Walk up to the computer and press up to access your objective. You're on SR388 again. (YAY!) There's been some sort of disturbance there and you're needed to go check out what is happening. Also, in the demo you collect energy from dead enemies in a whole new way. The energy is called "X" in the demo and when an enemy dies, it's energy leaves it's body turning it into some moving sludge. The energy flies around and you have to collect it, otherwise.. it will return to the moving sludge and regenerate. (No lie!) Samus can do so many new moves as well, she pulls herself onto ledges and can go across bars ala Tomb Raider GBC. Her animation is much smoother this time around. Your first objective is to get the missle data from a data pod to the right and up from where you start out. Then, after that, you must go for the Space Ball. You have to fight a boss that rolls into a ball and shoots power beams at you to get the space ball. He's tough; but easy to nail with the missiles. He's also in the original GB game in a slightly less powerful form. Many of the enemies are from the original Game Boy.. save for the telling... SPACE PIRATES. Why are they there? Hmmm.... interesting. Anyhow, after you beat the creature, you have to roll into a ball and go left. Then jump, tap into a ball in the air and roll into a crevice. This isn't too difficult; but I had to get a few people past that part. O_o I suppose that most journalists can't play games. One of my friends grabbed the ledge and then pulled up and into a ball. The music in the demo is partily remixed from Metroid II. And when Samus fires her gun arm.. there's a clicking reload sound. In some areas, there's so many enemies to shoot it made me think of Contra. At the end of the demo, you walk into a room and you see Samus walking toward you. Yes, it's freaky. Also, you can hit her with a missile. the demo stops when she gets to a certain point near you. She gets hit back when you hit her with a missile, so I'm going to try and kill her next time. Well, then it goes to a "Coming Soon" screen. I played a lot of other games and I would like to comment on them now.. but.. maybe later! Peace!
